      YOU GOT IT GIRL SCHOLARSHIP
I feel like, the qualities and experience that make me, a you got it girl, would be the fact that whenever I get challenged by something happening in my sport, even if it makes me feel some type of way, or it hurts me I still do what I can to accomplish it. For example if I am not originally a starter I will do everything I can to become one. And I tell myself certain stuff that will make me keep pushing. One thing about me I never give up I always continue to try because I have a huge love for my sports. The sports I compete in are volleyball and basketball. I’ve been competing in basketball since I was twelve, in fifth grade. I would have liked to have started early but the schools I went to didn’t let you compete till an earlier age. I started competing, in volleyball at the age of fourteen in seventh grade because my sixth grade school didn’t have it. For basketball the awards I have received is all most valuable player of the tournament, I also received my varsity letter when I was a sophomore, player of the game, and I received most offensive player for basketball. For volleyball I received player of the game, player of the week, most consistent, and I got my varsity letter my junior year. A time I faced a setback, was during basketball. I say this because I know my high-school coach didn’t like me very much. I’m not sure if the reason why he didn’t like me but I know he didn’t because he benched me, would only let me play for a little bit of time, he always told me stuff but not other girls, and there were also times when he would stop practice to try and embarrass me. For example he stopped practice to see how high I could jump making me jump in front of everyone telling me I should be able to reach the backboard and I couldn’t. He also let me start a game at one point and we finally were beating a team that always beat us and when we got to half time he switched me out, the other coach and the all teammates looked at him crazy for it and in the end of that game we lost. Through all of this I kept going hoping I would get my chance to shine being that he had favorites and his daughters on the team. In the end he finally let me start my senior year and I ended up being the best player in the team with the best defense and offense and he started liking me when he seen what I could do. Someone I admire, and look up to, is my dad. The reason I look up to him is because, he didn’t have to do it, but he gave up his life, in order to take me and my two little sisters with him after my mom left us to give us a better life. And no matter how hard it was, to get us where we are today he never gives up yea me may not have all the money in the world but we have each other. Anytime he has a hardship that sets him back he never gives up he keeps trying for us and that’s part of the reason I think I never gives up he up as well. He’s a hard worker and does what he can for us and we have had so many setbacks since we’ve been with him but he never gives up and that’s what I love. So right now I am going to a division three college, and I hope to get to a division one college to continue my dreams if playing basketball. While I’m at my first college I do not have a full ride scholarship and I am in need of money to pay the rest of my school fees. My dad and my grandma will help me, and I will get a job but I need to pay the money off now and we don’t have it. So I was hoping to win this scholarship so I can be closer to doing so. My dream is to go d1, and play in the WNBA. I feel I am halfway there, I just need a little more support and money to pay off my fees while I am at my d3, so I won’t have to struggle worrying about that when I can be worrying about basketball. With all of this information I sincerely hope you guys will choose me.

College essay Daymonie Jackson 6/16/25      I used to live in big cities and I loved it so much but one day that all changed, and now I live in a small town called Bullhead city. It is located in Arizona and not much happens here there is not much to do and this place doesn’t offer the kids here anything. The population is not big, there are not many schools here and you have to travel somewhere else to get things you need and or to try different foods, because as I said before there aren't many options here. My dream is to get out of here and do something bigger and better with my life then what I can be offered staying here.     Most kids who go to school here, always talk about how they are going to become something and never come back here, but they always end up coming back because they were not comfortable where they left to. I want to be that one kid, who says they are going to leave, become something, and never come back even if I get uncomfortable in certain situations. I wanna be the kid who came from this small town and I wanna be known for doing what I always wanted to and never end up coming back like all the other kids who have said that. In order for me to do this in my eyes it all starts with the college experience I would love to go to a big college in a big city and continue to play sports, because it has always been my dream to continue playing basketball and even make it to the WNBA I know it will hard being that I come from a small town where nobody can really notice me but I know that I have the power to do it because I’m a hard worker and I don’t give up easily. It would mean a lot for me to get out of Bullhead because that would be the first start to a bigger and better future for myself. I also plan to meet new people and make a big impact on the people around me as in the people from the past and the people in the future. I plan to do the best I can with achieving good grades, playing sports and doing my best no matter what.      I’ve been in this small town for years, and not much has changed or gotten better for me. I know that if I move somewhere bigger and better, things may start to get better for me. And with college I may be able to have the great experience I’ve never gotten the chance to get going to high school out here, that many other people have got living somewhere else.
