Hello, my name is Davin Cleek, and I’m 24 years old. My grandfather passed four years ago from cancer. His name was Wayne Dills. He was originally from Connecticut. He was a very strong-willed man, but once you got to know him, it was because of his past trauma, and he loved like nobody I’ve ever met. He loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and always wanted to ride the Tail of the Dragon, but passed away before he could. He also loved fishing and hunting. We would go all the time fishing and that man would always outfish me. And drove me crazy but now that I know what I know I wouldn’t change it for my own life. That man taught me how to hunt and fish and most importantly how to be a man and to treat people with love no matter what. I lost a part of me when he passed but I know he will always be looking down on me and helping me even if I do not know it. One of the hardest things that I had to deal with was graduating without him being there. I always want Papa (Wayne) to be there no matter what I do. Now that I’ve had a full-time job for the past 6 years has been harder also because I always asked him if he was proud of what I was doing. And I haven’t been able to hear him say that since I graduated and when I started my full-time job running heavy equipment. Now where I’m in college I believe that he would be very proud of me to start this next chapter of my life, but it’s very hard for me to deal with because I know that he isn’t here to see me do it or to tell me that he’s proud of me or to tell me to keep digging and keep pushing to do what’s the right thing my goal is to start my own business once I get out of HVAC school, which I’m currently enrolled in because he was the person that showed me that I needed to treat people when kindness in love and to be able to help people that is in need and I believe that I would be able to do that in the HVAC field with the elderly people that might need their unit worked on and it all stems back to my papa how he helped me become the man I am today and I would truly love to see him again, but I would never call him back to this first, knowing that he is healed of the cancer and he doesn’t have to deal with it again.

All the equipment is very expensive. My parents are divorced and I’ve had a hard time paying for tools and books by myself. I have a dead end job and do not get paid enough to buy everything. I love school and I am loving getting to learn more about heating ventilation and air conditioning. Hopefully when I graduate, I am going to open my own business. I want to help others in the career I am currently pursuing. I want to make sure they have working heating and air system, so during the summer they are cool, and during the winter they say warm. I have always loved to help to people. I hope to when I graduate and open my own business that I can help others in need. For people that do not have the money to hire a heating ventilator and air conditioning technician that I can be there for anyone with their financial needs. I know how tight money can be for people and I want to help them anyway I can. Either with heating or air conditioning, I want to be the technician they can always count on and have their trust. My goals for my future career is once I graduate school is to get a job in heating ventilation and air conditioning.
