Bio

My name is David and I have a dream of obtaining a degree in STEM. I am dedicated to my studies and have a passion for learning. I am determined to achieve my goal through my hard work and success in academics, music, and sports. Here are a few of my achievements: - I maintain a 4.0 unweighted GPA. - I will most likely graduate high school with an associate degree due to dual enrollment since 9th grade. - I passed the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth SCAT test with high honors. - I play the piano. I’m trained classically in both theory and music. I volunteer at local nursing homes through Music Students Service League. - I play competitive tennis and I am ranked #22 in the Northern California USTA section. I represented NorCal in two regional events. - I won 1st place in California State Chess Championship in 2012 (my trophy was bigger than me at the time). - I was admitted to ASDRP on a scholarship in 2020, and I was awarded an “Outstanding Freshman Award” at the summer symposium for my work with semi-synthetic berberine analogs under the supervision of a Stanford Ph.D. candidate. - I work as a line cook at a local bakery. - During my free time I enjoy making handmade pasta or sourdough pizza, writing rap lyrics, or riding my skateboard and hanging out with my friends.
