      Taylor Swift Fan Scholarship
The Taylor Swift performance that moves me the most is her All Too Well (10-Minute Version) performance at the 2021 AMAs. I remember watching it while recovering from one of the most difficult experiences of my life: being mugged. That day, I felt shaken, vulnerable, and angry. For the first time in a long while, I felt like my sense of safety and trust in the world had been stripped away. In the days that followed, I struggled to process my emotions and find comfort. Then, I watched Taylor perform All Too Well. From the very first note, I felt a connection that I had been craving—someone expressing pain and heartbreak in a way that felt honest, unfiltered, and real. Her performance reminded me that it’s okay to feel broken, that grief and fear are natural, and that I could channel those emotions into something meaningful rather than letting them control me. What makes this performance so impactful is Taylor’s authenticity. She doesn’t just sing the song—she lives it on stage. The tremble in her voice, the intensity of her gaze, and the emotion she puts into every lyric made me feel like she understood what it means to be hurt and still stand strong. Even though she was telling a story from her life, it resonated deeply with mine. Watching her, I realized that vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s strength. It gave me courage to face my own feelings after being mugged, to acknowledge my fear and anger without letting them define me. Beyond comfort, that performance inspired me to take action in my own life. It reminded me that healing comes from expressing yourself honestly and embracing your emotions. I started journaling about my experience, talking openly with friends and family, and finding small ways to reclaim my confidence and sense of safety. Taylor’s bravery on stage showed me that pain can be transformed into resilience, and that sharing your story—even indirectly through art—can connect with others and make a real impact. Taylor Swift’s All Too Well (10-Minute Version) performance is more than just a song on stage—it is a lesson in courage, vulnerability, and emotional truth. That performance moved me because it helped me navigate a moment when I felt powerless, reminding me that pain is temporary, strength is built in the hardest moments, and music has the power to heal and inspire.
Ed and Aline Patane Kind, Compassion, Joy and Generosity Memorial Scholarship
Faith has always been the compass guiding my decisions and shaping who I am today. Growing up, I learned that faith is not just about belief—it is about action, integrity, and hope. There was a moment in my life when this belief became tangible. During my sophomore year, a close friend faced a family crisis that left them feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. I felt unsure how to help, but my faith reminded me that even small acts of love and support can make a difference. I spent hours listening, praying with them, and helping them navigate their challenges. It was through that experience that I realized faith is lived through compassion and service, not just words. Guiding someone with empathy, patience, and kindness reminded me that my faith can be a source of strength not just for me, but for others in times of need. Serving others has always been central to who I am. Over the years, I have volunteered with local organizations, school events, and community initiatives. I helped organize food drives, mentored younger students, and participated in community clean-ups. Each experience taught me that service is not just about giving—it is about connection, understanding, and lifting others up. The moments that mattered most weren’t always the big events; they were the small gestures—a reassuring word to a student struggling with schoolwork or a warm smile for someone who felt overlooked. Serving others has strengthened my sense of responsibility and empathy, and it has shown me how much a single act of care can ripple outward, touching lives in ways I may never fully see. Kindness, compassion, and generosity are values I try to live every day. At school, I make it a point to support classmates, whether it’s helping them with homework or simply checking in when they seem down. At home, I take part in caring for my family, helping with chores, and listening when someone needs to be heard. There was a time when a new student joined our school and felt isolated. I made an effort to include them, introduce them to others, and make them feel welcome. It was a small act, but over time, they became confident and engaged, and I realized how powerful consistent kindness can be in creating a supportive environment. Demonstrating compassion in daily life has taught me patience, humility, and the importance of showing up for others, even in ways that go unnoticed. Looking toward the future, I hope to pursue a college education that allows me to grow academically, spiritually, and personally. I want to develop the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in my community, whether through leadership, service, or advocacy. Receiving this scholarship would not only help me financially but also affirm the values of Ed and Aline Patane that I strive to live by: faith, service, and compassion. With this support, I can continue to serve, learn, and grow without the weight of financial barriers, dedicating myself fully to my education and to living a life that honors the principles of generosity, kindness, and family. Ultimately, my faith, service, and compassion are interconnected. They guide me in my daily choices, inspire me to help others, and give me hope for a future where I can contribute meaningfully to the world. This scholarship would allow me to carry forward those values, making education not just a personal achievement but a tool to uplift others and strengthen the legacy of service and love exemplified by Ed and Aline Patane.
      Hines Scholarship
Going to college means more to me than just attending classes or earning a degree. It represents hope, opportunity, and the chance to rewrite my future. For me, it is the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifice, and resilience. It is the key that can open doors not only for me but also for my family and community. As a student from a minority background, I am all too aware of the barriers that exist—barriers that can make dreams feel out of reach. College is my way of overcoming those obstacles and proving that my background does not define my potential. Education has the power to transform lives. For me, it is a tool to break cycles of limited opportunity and to build a stronger foundation for my future. I want to acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence to contribute meaningfully to society, while also paving the way for the next generation. I hope to be the example for younger students in my community, showing them that with determination and perseverance, they too can reach goals that may have once seemed impossible. A college education is my way of turning ambition into action and dreams into tangible achievements. Through my education, I aim to accomplish more than personal success. I want to gain the expertise and resources to make a real impact—whether it’s addressing social inequities, creating opportunities for others, or advocating for those whose voices are often overlooked. Every lecture I attend and every project I complete is a step toward making a meaningful contribution in the world. College is not just a place to learn; it is a platform to transform passion into purpose and knowledge into action. Beyond academics, college represents growth. It is a space to meet new people, challenge my assumptions, and develop leadership and problem-solving skills that will shape the person I become. I want to explore my interests fully, take risks, and emerge not only with a degree but with the confidence to navigate life’s challenges and the compassion to help others do the same. Going to college, for me, is both a personal and a collective journey. It is a way to honor the sacrifices of those who came before me, while also creating opportunities for those who will come after. It is a chance to transform obstacles into achievements, potential into reality, and ambition into lasting impact. That is what college means to me, and that is what I am determined to accomplish.
      Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I am a fan of Sabrina Carpenter because she creates the kind of music that doesn’t just sit in your ears but settles into your life. I didn’t start listening to her expecting anything big, but somehow her songs slowly became part of the way I understand myself. There is something in her voice, in the small cracks of emotion and the way she phrases things, that makes even the simplest lyric feel honest. She doesn’t try to be perfect or untouchable. Instead, she shares the vulnerable thoughts most people are too scared to say out loud, and hearing that kind of openness made me feel seen in a way I didn’t realize I needed. What makes her impact so personal is how she blends humor, heartbreak, and confidence in a way that mirrors the reality of growing up. Life is rarely just one emotion, and Sabrina’s music reflects that. One moment she’s joking about being the “other girl,” and the next she’s admitting how deeply something hurt her. That combination taught me that it’s okay to feel everything deeply and still keep going. Her songs made space for emotions I didn’t always know how to express. When I felt unsure of myself, her music reminded me that it’s normal to be messy and complicated. When I felt small, her confidence helped me find some of my own. Her career has also shown me the importance of growth. Watching her evolve from her early music to the artist she is now has been inspiring. She didn’t hide her transitions or pretend she had everything figured out. She allowed herself to change publicly, to try new sounds, to embrace a bolder, braver version of herself. It made me realize that changing doesn’t mean losing who you are. It means you’re learning, becoming stronger, and stepping into the life you want. Most of all, Sabrina’s music has been a constant reminder that I am not alone in my feelings. When I was going through confusing moments, heartbreak, or self-doubt, her lyrics made me feel understood. When I needed something warm and uplifting, her songs brought comfort without asking anything from me. She has shaped the way I see myself, encouraging me to trust in my own voice, to embrace my emotions, and to move through life with softness and strength.
Cadets to Vets Future Leaders Scholarship
Being part of JROTC has shown me that leadership starts with compassion. Every morning when I put on my uniform, I feel a sense of purpose that goes far beyond the classroom. The program taught me that true leadership means looking around, seeing who needs help, and choosing to step forward instead of waiting for someone else to act. This mindset is what shaped my passion for community service and the reason I am committed to building a stronger future for the people around me. My involvement in JROTC opened my eyes to the needs within my community. One of the moments that changed me the most was volunteering at local food distribution events. I remember seeing families waiting quietly in long lines, some embarrassed, some exhausted, but all incredibly grateful for any help they could receive. I handed out boxes of groceries and listened to people thank us with a kind of relief that stayed with me long after the event ended. It made me realize that service is not measured by the size of the action, but by the impact it has on someone else’s life. Knowing that a simple bag of food could ease someone’s worry for a night changed the way I saw my role in the world. These experiences also helped shape my goals for the future. After serving in the military, I hope to work in community outreach that supports families in underserved areas. I want to help people who feel unseen and create programs that give them hope, stability, and opportunities they may have never had. JROTC taught me that every community has potential, and when people work together, change becomes possible. I want to be part of that change, not just for myself but for the generations who come after me. The biggest challenge I faced along the way was learning how to balance everything that was important to me. School, leadership responsibilities, family obligations, and maintaining my own sanity sometimes felt like too much. There were moments when I sat with my head in my hands, wondering if I was failing at everything all at once. I considered stepping away from JROTC because I thought it would make life easier, but something in me would not let go of the program that had already shaped me so deeply. Instead, I learned to grow through the struggle. I learned to ask for help, to be honest with myself when I was overwhelmed, and to take one task at a time. The experience taught me that strength is not shown in moments of perfection, but in moments when you refuse to quit. If I were a superhero, my theme song would be “Unstoppable” by Sia. The song feels like a reflection of my journey. It reminds me that even when I feel tired or unsure, I can still rise. It captures the quiet kind of strength that comes from resilience and the determination to keep moving forward. That is the type of hero I hope to be for my community. Someone who listens, someone who serves, and someone who never stops trying to make the world better.
      Code Breakers & Changemakers Scholarship
STEM has always fascinated me because it allows curiosity to meet creativity, and ideas to become tangible solutions that can improve lives. From building our robotics team’s competition robot to designing mechanical solutions in class projects, I have experienced firsthand how science, technology, engineering, and math can transform abstract concepts into something real and impactful. Every challenge sparks questions: How can this design be more efficient? How can this system help people? How can I innovate without losing sight of practical solutions? This curiosity is the fuel that drives me to explore, experiment, and persist. My passion for robotics has not only strengthened my technical skills but also shaped my understanding of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership. Last year, our team made it to the World Championship, an exhilarating journey that required collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience. Volunteering has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life. At the WOW Center, I work with developmentally disabled adults, helping them engage in educational and recreational activities. Through patience, encouragement, and consistent support, I have helped individuals gain confidence in their abilities, build social skills, and feel proud of their accomplishments. Their smiles, the laughter we share, and the genuine thanks I receive remind me that even small moments of guidance can make a profound difference in someone’s life. Similarly, at Lotus House, I assist women and children experiencing homelessness. From helping with daily activities to mentoring children and providing encouragement, I have seen firsthand how empathy, support, and attention can create hope and stability for those facing hardship. Families often express their gratitude, sometimes with a simple “thank you” or with heartfelt stories of how my presence or assistance made their day brighter. These moments of acknowledgment have taught me that service is not just about completing tasks—it’s about truly connecting with people, empowering them, and helping them see their own potential. Balancing academics, golf, robotics, and volunteering has required dedication, organization, and resilience. These experiences have taught me the importance of showing up, giving my best, and approaching every challenge with energy and commitment. Inspired by Kalia D. Her commitment to work ethic, community, and supporting others inspires me to approach every challenge with determination and a positive attitude. This scholarship would help me continue building a life centered on learning, loving, laughing, and giving back—a life that reflects the same drive, ambition, and impact that Kalia exemplified.
      Individualized Education Pathway Scholarship
If you had told me in middle school that I would survive high school with an IEP and still enjoy learning, I might have laughed—or maybe cried a little, probably both. Students with learning disabilities often face underestimation, sideways glances from teachers who don’t understand our quirks, and the occasional misplaced pencil that somehow turns into a full-blown crisis. But having an IEP has also taught me creativity, persistence, and how to advocate for myself—skills I would not trade for all the perfectly sharpened pencils in the world. One of the biggest challenges for me has been managing time and assignments. Sometimes instructions felt like they were written in a secret code only accessible to wizards. I quickly learned to break problems into smaller steps, ask for clarification when needed, and even develop my own color-coded system that would make a rainbow jealous. Over time, these strategies not only helped me survive my classes, but actually thrive in them. I discovered that a learning disability doesn’t limit intelligence or curiosity—it just requires a different approach and a little extra patience. Watching my cousin navigate school with Autism and an IEP has been a huge source of inspiration. Diagnosed at age three, my cousin struggled through school, completed it successfully, and is now more independent than ever. Seeing her overcome obstacles while keeping a sense of humor reminded me that education is a journey, not a sprint, and that persistence, support, and a bit of laughter can get you farther than you might imagine. My experiences with an IEP and my cousin’s journey have motivated me to continue pursuing education despite challenges. I want to show that students with learning disabilities can excel in higher education and beyond. Whether it’s participating in robotics, balancing schoolwork, or volunteering, I’ve learned that determination and self-advocacy can turn obstacles into opportunities. I want to inspire others, just as my cousin and my teachers have inspired me, by proving that an IEP is not a limitation but a tool for success. This scholarship would help me focus on my college or trade school education without worrying as much about financial barriers. With the right support, I know I can continue to grow academically and personally, and eventually contribute to a world where learning disabilities are understood, accommodated, and celebrated. In short, having an IEP has taught me resilience, creativity, and how to laugh at myself when instructions are vague, assignments are overwhelming, or pencils mysteriously disappear. These lessons motivate me to keep pursuing education, to overcome obstacles with humor and determination, and to show others that we can thrive, no matter what labels we are given.
      David Foster Memorial Scholarship
The high school teacher who has had the greatest impact on my life was my math teacher. You would never have known that he lived with a chronic illness, except that he occasionally wore a mask. Even in the face of his own struggles, he never let his condition define him or affect his dedication to his students. His calm determination, his unwavering focus on helping us learn, and his quiet strength left an impression that has stayed with me long after leaving his classroom. What made him truly remarkable was not just his mastery of math, but the way he approached teaching and life. He went above and beyond to engage his students, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience. Even on days when he must have felt exhausted or unwell, he showed up for us, always patient, always supportive. I remember one robotics competition where he visited to cheer on our team. That simple gesture reminded me that perseverance, encouragement, and presence can have a profound impact on others, even in moments of pressure or uncertainty. His influence has shaped my approach to life in ways I could never have anticipated. I have learned that challenges are not obstacles to avoid, but opportunities to grow. His example has inspired me to persevere in my academic work, in robotics, in golf, and in volunteering at Lotus House and the WOW Center. Whenever I face a difficult problem—whether designing a robotics project, mentoring younger students, or balancing multiple responsibilities—I think of the patience, determination, and quiet resilience he demonstrated every day. Beyond academics, he taught me the importance of empathy and supporting others. Watching him quietly lift those around him, even while facing his own challenges, has shaped the way I mentor younger students, guide teammates, and engage with my community. I have learned that leadership is not always about being the loudest voice, but about showing up, encouraging others, and modeling perseverance in action. His influence extends into my future goals as well. I aspire to pursue engineering, either biomedical or mechanical, and to use my skills to create solutions that help others. I want to build not just technology, but also opportunities, mentorship, and support networks that empower those around me, just as he empowered us through his teaching and presence. In reflecting on his legacy, I realize that the lessons he taught me go far beyond the classroom. He showed me that dedication, empathy, and resilience can shape not only your own life, but the lives of everyone you touch. His boldness, commitment, and quiet courage have inspired me to approach challenges with determination, to value the importance of encouraging others, and to strive every day to make a positive impact. I carry his lessons with me in all that I do, and I hope to honor his example by living a life of service, perseverance, and purpose. ~Rest In Peace Mister Reyes~

Just as Aserina Hill dedicated her life to helping students achieve their goals, I hope to inspire a new generation of learners, innovators, and community leaders. Through education, mentorship, and service, I aim to create opportunities for others to succeed and make a positive impact on the world.
      Healing Self and Community Scholarship
Mental health care should be a right, not a privilege, yet many young people, especially those in BIPOC communities, face barriers that prevent them from getting the support they need. High costs, lack of awareness, and the stigma surrounding mental health leave countless individuals struggling in silence. I want to contribute to a world where mental health care is affordable, accessible, and normalized for everyone. My approach focuses on education, creativity, and community outreach. I would work to develop programs that combine art and mental health promotion, offering workshops that teach coping strategies through creative expression. Art can provide a safe, therapeutic outlet while also raising awareness about mental health challenges. By partnering with schools and local organizations, these programs could reach youth who might otherwise have limited access to traditional therapy. In addition, I would advocate for increased funding for community-based mental health services and support platforms that provide low-cost or free counseling resources. I believe that using technology, social media, and art to share information about mental health can break down stigma, encourage early intervention, and give young people the tools they need to thrive. By combining creativity, advocacy, and education, I hope to make mental health care both approachable and accessible. I want to empower others to seek support, normalize mental wellness, and ensure that every young person has the opportunity to grow into a healthy, resilient adult

The greatest driving force in my life has been my math teacher. You would never have known that he lived with a chronic illness, except that he sometimes wore a mask. He never complained, never let his condition show, and never allowed it to affect his dedication to teaching. Every day he arrived at school with calm energy, focused on helping us learn and grow. To me, he was more than a teacher; he was an example of perseverance, strength, and quiet determination. When he passed away last year, I felt the depth of his influence. I realized that he was teaching us more than equations and formulas. He was teaching us how to face challenges with courage and consistency, how to continue giving our best even when life feels heavy. His perseverance inspired me to approach my own goals with focus and determination, even when obstacles seemed overwhelming. His example has guided me in all areas of my life, especially in robotics. Our team faced countless challenges, from designs not working as planned to long, exhausting competition days. During these moments, I thought of my teacher and the way he never gave up despite his own struggles. He even came to support us in one of our competitions, visiting the team to encourage us and remind us to give our best. His presence, even for a short time, boosted our confidence and reminded me of the importance of showing up for others. I remembered his quiet strength during stressful times and found motivation to stay calm, work with my teammates, and push forward. When our driver made it to the finals and our team earned a place at the World Championship, the exhilaration was matched by the understanding of all the effort, teamwork, and perseverance it took to get there. That experience taught me that determination, collaboration, and faith in each other can lead to extraordinary outcomes, even when success seems uncertain. My teacher’s influence has also shaped how I think about my future. I want to pursue a career in biomedical or mechanical engineering so I can create solutions that improve lives. I hope to combine innovation with compassion, helping people overcome challenges and live fuller, more meaningful lives. He taught me that the work we do matters most when it can be used to make a difference for others. That lesson guides my ambition every day and motivates me to persevere when faced with obstacles. He showed me that strength does not have to be loud or visible. Sometimes it is simply the choice to show up, do your best, and inspire those around you through example. His life has driven me to pursue excellence, to persevere through difficulties, and to use my skills to empower others. I hope that my efforts in school, robotics, and eventually engineering will honor the example he set and carry forward the lessons he taught me about determination, resilience, and the quiet power of perseverance.

My math teacher was one of the strongest people I have ever known. You would never have known that he lived with a chronic illness unless you noticed the mask he sometimes wore. He never complained, never showed pain, and never let his condition stop him from giving his best to his students. Every day he came to class with the same calm, steady energy, focused on helping us learn and grow. To me, he was more than a teacher; he was an example of quiet perseverance and strength. When he passed away last year, it affected me deeply. I kept thinking about how he carried himself, even when he must have been struggling. He showed me that strength isn’t always loud or visible. Sometimes it’s the choice to keep showing up, to keep helping others even when no one sees the effort it takes. That lesson changed the way I see hard work, success, and what it means to live with purpose. His influence reached into every part of my life, especially robotics. Our team faced moments where things went wrong—motors failed, ideas didn’t work, and competition days were long and stressful. During those times, I remembered him. I remembered how he never gave up on us or himself, and it helped me stay calm and focused. It reminded me that perseverance and teamwork matter more than any one success. When our driver made it to the finals and we earned a place at the World Championship, it felt like all the late nights, setbacks, and prayers were worth it. I carried the same mindset my teacher had taught me: to give everything I have, even when it’s hard. Because of his example, I want to pursue a career in biomedical or mechanical engineering. I want to help people who face physical challenges or chronic conditions live better, more fulfilling lives. I want my work to combine compassion and innovation, creating something that can make a real difference. My teacher showed me that small acts of strength can inspire others to keep going, and I want to carry that lesson forward into everything I do. His life taught me that perseverance is not about being perfect or never facing obstacles. It is about staying steady, doing your best, and uplifting others along the way. That is how I hope to impact the world—by living with the same quiet strength he showed every day.

Growing up with a single mother has shaped nearly every part of who I am. My mom has always been my greatest role model, strong, selfless, and unwavering in her commitment to provide for our family, no matter the challenges. Watching her balance everything on her own taught me lessons in perseverance, responsibility, and gratitude that no textbook could ever offer. My mom worked tirelessly to make sure I had opportunities she never had. There were times when I could see the exhaustion in her eyes after long days, but she never complained. She showed me that true strength is not about never struggling, but about pushing through even when things seem impossible. Her ability to keep going with faith and determination has inspired me to approach my own goals with the same mindset. Growing up in a single-parent household also meant I had to take on responsibilities early. I learned how to manage my time, help around the house, and stay focused on school without needing to be reminded. At first, it felt like a lot for my age, but I now realize how much those experiences prepared me for adulthood. They taught me accountability, independence, and the value of hard work. My mom’s strength is also what sparked my interest in engineering. I saw how often she fixed things herself, determined to make the most of what we had instead of giving up or waiting for help. That spirit of resourcefulness and problem-solving inspired me to pursue a field where I can build, design, and create solutions that make life better for others. She taught me that no problem is too big to face when you have determination, and that mindset has carried over into how I approach challenges in robotics and engineering. I also learned compassion and empathy from her example. My mom has always found ways to give to others, even when we did not have much. Her kindness showed me that success means nothing if it does not include helping those around you. Because of her, I want to use my education and career to make a difference by creating technologies that improve lives and by being a leader who lifts others up. This scholarship would help relieve some of the financial strain that both my mom and I face as I continue my education. It would allow me to focus more on developing my skills in engineering and contributing to my community, rather than worrying about how to afford tuition. More importantly, it would honor the sacrifices my mom made to help me reach this point. My mom’s strength, love, and faith have shaped me into a person who does not give up easily. She taught me to face obstacles with courage and to see every challenge as an opportunity to grow. Everything I achieve will always be a reflection of her sacrifices and her belief in me.

My Golf Journey The sun was just setting, casting shadows across the green, as I stood over the ball on the 18th hole of a local tournament. My hands trembled, not just from nerves, but from the weight of every lesson, practice, and every moment spent chasing improvement. With a deep breath, I swung, and for what felt like the first time ever, the ball flew straight, true, and far. In that moment, I felt a spark, a love for a sport that had quietly become more than a game to me. My golf journey began when I was just eleven years old, six years ago, right after I told my dad I wanted to be like the golfers on TV. The first days were far from perfect though. I struggled to see the ball clearly, hitting it straight was nearly impossible, and my short game seemed hopeless. Driving the ball long distances felt just as challenging. But rather than discouraging me, these struggles fueled my determination. I decided to start private lessons with a coach. Each practice became a puzzle, and every improvement, no matter how small, was exhilarating. Over the past six years, golf has taught me lessons far beyond the course. It requires patience, focus, and resilience, and these qualities have shaped my character. I’ve competed in junior tournaments, celebrated teammate victories, and learned to view mistakes not as failures, but as opportunities to grow. My proudest moment came on the tee when everyone was watching. “Just the way you practiced,” I told myself. With a loud whoosh, I hit the ball further than ever. I felt fulfilled. Being part of my high school golf team has been equally transformative. Golf may seem like a solitary sport, but alongside my teammates, I’ve learned the value of encouragement, strategy, and shared dedication. Together, we’ve celebrated wins, supported each other through setbacks, and built friendships that extend far beyond the course. These experiences reinforced that golf is not just about personal achievement; it’s about connection and collaboration. Golf has also influenced my goals and mindset. Every round teaches me to set objectives, remain patient, and approach challenges strategically. The focus, perseverance, and discipline I’ve developed on the course have carried over into academics and personal growth, helping me face obstacles with confidence and determination. Every time I step onto the course, I am reminded that golf is more than a sport. It is a teacher, a mirror, and a source of joy. Six years into my journey, every swing brings new lessons, new challenges, and new opportunities to grow. Golf has shaped who I am, who I aspire to be, and how I connect with others.
