Music saved me and I’m determined to repay the debt I owe for it. My love for music has always been a part of me since I was born. To the extent I began to learn drum with spoons before I learned to walk. As I grew my love continued to grow, and when I was bullied music was one of the only things that kept me standing strong. Which first began to create the debt I feel the need to pay.
As I was bullied, I listened to music and was inspired by the stories that were told that I could relate to. It comforted me knowing that I wasn’t alone with how I felt or what I was going through. It also put faith in me that things would be better and I could move on from all the pain they brought on me. I never want others to feel the way I did and at times still do, but just like then music if something I use to push through it all.
I am grateful for what music does for my life and how it continues to inspire me. I’ve always been determined to give what music has always given me. To give me strength, to inspire, to heal, and to give me a reason to enjoy living. I write lyrics in hopes that one day I can share them and help people as other’s music as helped me. To connect others in their pain and help them heal from all forms of trauma. To share my story and my feelings so they know they are not alone. That to me is how I give back and pay the debt I have for music.
