Bio

I am a driven, first-generation entrepreneur and a current student at Florida Atlantic University, pursuing a career at the intersection of business, real estate and community development. At 14, I launched my first venture, Nude by Nina a women's fashion and cosmetics brand, and at 16, I expanded into organic skincare with Nina’s Body, gaining hands-on experience in branding, operations, and market strategy. These ventures taught me that innovation is a powerful tool for self-agency and economic independence. Building on this foundation, I have recently earned my Real Estate CCP, and I am actively working toward a career in South Florida real estate to help individuals and families secure the foundation of homeownership. My commitment to professional growth is matched by my dedication to service; as a proud member of SISTUHS, Inc., NCNW Inc., Kiwanis Key Club of WPB, and FAU's Business Professional Scholarship House. I am currently on track to complete 400 community service hours by the end of 2026. Whether through my businesses or my volunteer work, my goal is to leverage my education to create sustainable impact and economic empowerment within my community. I am a resilient, purpose-driven leader eager to transform my academic and professional ambitions into a legacy of service.

    YOU GOT IT GIRL SCHOLARSHIP
To me, being a "You Got It Girl" is not just about the medals or the stage; it is about the quiet, unwavering discipline to keep showing up when the world feels like it is collapsing. As an athlete, I have learned that the most difficult obstacles are not the ones we face in competition, but the ones we face in the quiet, empty spaces of our own lives. I define my YGIG journey through my commitment to three demanding disciplines: Olympic weightlifting, competitive cheerleading, and flag football. My athletic foundation is built on versatility and grit. I began cheerleading in 2018, flag football in 2022, and Olympic weightlifting in 2020. These sports demand extreme opposites of the athletic spectrum—the explosive, raw power of the snatch and clean-and-jerk, the strategic agility of flag football, and the intricate, gravity-defying precision of D1 collegiate cheer. My greatest recent accomplishment occurred this past April, when I helped my team at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) place in the top nine in the nation at the NCA Collegiate Cheer Championship in Daytona. Standing on that mat, I realized that I wasn't just performing—I was proving that dedication to one's craft yields undeniable results. The most profound setback I have faced was the loss of my father to colon cancer. Grief is a physical weight that threatens to derail every goal, and in the months following his passing, the simple act of training felt impossible. However, I turned that pain into a catalyst for growth. Losing him showed me what true resilience really means; it isn't about avoiding the pain, but rather integrating it into a life of purpose. It taught me that if I could push through the physical and emotional agony of loss, I could push through any training block or difficult stunt sequence. I channeled that energy into a commitment to my community, setting a goal to complete 400 community service hours by the end of 2026. This goal keeps me active, accountable, and focused on using my platform to uplift others. I am deeply inspired by the women in my life who balance the "impossible"—those who act as providers, advocates, and leaders while maintaining grace. They have taught me that we do not climb the mountain just to stand at the top; we climb it to light the way for those coming up behind us. This You Got It Girl Scholarship would be a transformative investment in my journey. As I balance the rigorous demands of being a D1 student-athlete at FAU with my pursuit of a real estate career and my commitment to community service, the financial strain is significant. This support would bridge the gap between my current potential and my long-term goals, allowing me to focus on my training, my academics, and my 400-hour service project without the constant shadow of financial instability. Being a D1 athlete at FAU is the culmination of years of hard work. I compete as a member of the official FAU cheer team, and my role requires not just physical capability, but a high level of mental resilience and leadership. I am currently attending school with the discipline of a veteran athlete, treating every class and practice as an opportunity to build the foundation for my future. I am ready to be a representative of the YGIG mission, proving that with discipline, heart, and a refusal to quit, any girl can build a future that is as strong as it is impactful. I am not just playing for the win; I am building a legacy.

My journey into STEAM—specifically the intersection of science and the culinary arts—began with a personal necessity: managing my own health. When I started my digital cookbook and wellness brand, @the.pcoschef, on Instagram, I realized that creating recipes for those with PCOS required far more than just culinary intuition. It demanded a rigorous understanding of biochemistry and nutritional science. I chose to further my education in STEAM because I am committed to transforming the way we view food, moving it from a simple source of fuel to a precision-engineered tool for hormonal health. STEAM provides the framework that allows me to bridge the gap between ancient culinary traditions and modern health science. Through my studies, I am learning the molecular composition of ingredients and how different preparation techniques, such as fermentation or specific heat treatments, affect the bioavailability of nutrients. My digital cookbook is not just a collection of recipes; it is a laboratory-based resource where I analyze how fiber, protein, and complex carbohydrates interact to regulate insulin sensitivity—a critical factor for anyone managing PCOS. By applying STEAM principles, I can provide my community with more than just a meal idea; I offer a data-backed approach to managing symptoms through nutrition. I care deeply about this field because it is the "why" behind the "what." It empowers me to explain to my followers exactly how a specific botanical extract or nutrient interacts with the body’s endocrine system. By utilizing technology and evidence-based research, I am moving beyond simple cooking to formulating wellness strategies that stand on scientific integrity. Whether I am experimenting with ingredients that reduce inflammation or using digital tools to map out nutritional profiles, my education in STEAM is the engine that drives the efficacy of everything I create. This Kayla Nicole Monk Memorial Scholarship would be a transformative investment in this vision. As a student and a developer of health-conscious content, the financial demands of higher education often feel like a hurdle between where I am and the leader I am determined to become. This scholarship would alleviate those burdens, allowing me to pour more focus into my STEAM studies and the growth of @the.pcoschef. It would affirm the importance of my mission to make science-backed, accessible wellness information a reality for those who often feel overlooked by traditional medicine. I am not just seeking a degree; I am seeking to acquire the scientific and culinary expertise to scale my impact. I am dedicated to a life of perpetual growth, and this support would enable me to turn my education into the nutritional infrastructure my community needs to thrive. By combining the art of the kitchen with the precision of science, I intend to carry forward a legacy of strength, passion, and the power to change lives through the food we eat.
    Larry Darnell Green Scholarship
Growing up in a single-parent household, my educational journey has been defined by the silent, relentless work of a parent who served as both provider and cheerleader. While many of my peers saw their parents as a team, I learned early on that stability was not a guarantee—it was a construction project, built one day at a time through my mother’s sacrifice. This reality did not just shape my schedule; it fundamentally altered my ambition. Watching my mother navigate the financial and emotional currents of raising children alone taught me that education is the most powerful tool for breaking cycles of struggle. In high school, when I often had to balance household responsibilities with my studies, I learned that time is a finite resource. This created a sense of urgency in my academic life; I realized that my performance wasn't just for my own success, but a tribute to the late nights and early mornings my mother spent ensuring I had every opportunity she did not. Being the child of a single parent made me a first-generation student, which meant walking into the world of college applications and financial aid without a guide. It taught me how to be resourceful, how to advocate for myself, and how to stay focused when the path forward seemed obscured by financial uncertainty. These challenges, while difficult, have become the bedrock of my character. They fostered a resilience that allowed me to view my education not as a path of least resistance, but as a commitment to a future where my own family—and the families around me—do not have to navigate these systems in isolation. In the future, I plan to give back to my community by creating a mentorship and resource network specifically for students from single-parent households. I have lived the reality of needing guidance but feeling like a burden when asking for it. I want to bridge that gap by providing students with the practical tools they need to succeed—navigating the complexities of financial aid, balancing academic loads, and managing the emotional weight that often comes with nontraditional home structures. Furthermore, I plan to advocate for policy and community-based programs that provide supplemental support for single parents, such as tutoring services that allow children to succeed in school while their parents work extended hours. My educational journey has taught me that no one succeeds entirely on their own; we are all products of the support systems we build. By providing that support to the next generation, I intend to ensure that the "cycle of struggle" ends with my generation, replaced by a cycle of empowerment and collective success. I am not just working for a degree; I am working to ensure that the next child who grows up in a single-parent home feels that the world is open, accessible, and filled with people ready to help them rise.
    Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Fan Scholarship
Taylor Swift's song "Out of the Woods" presents a powerful metaphorical representation of the experiences faced by immigrants. The track delves into the emotional turmoil of trying to find one's place in a new environment while grappling with uncertainty and challenges. Similarly, immigrants often embark on journeys into the unknown, leaving behind their familiar homes to seek a better life in foreign lands. This essay explores the parallels between the emotional journey portrayed in "Out of the Woods" and the real-life experiences of immigrants, emphasizing how both narratives encompass resilience, adaptation, and transformation. The Journey of Uncertainty: The song "Out of the Woods" begins with Swift's haunting voice narrating a story of fear and uncertainty, painting vivid images of navigating through dark and unfamiliar terrain. This aspect of the song mirrors the trepidation that immigrants often experience when leaving their home countries to seek new opportunities. The decision to leave behind their families, cultures, and comfort zones is marked by anxiety about the future and a fear of the unknown. Resilience and Survival: As the song progresses, Swift's lyrics evoke a sense of resilience and determination. She sings of facing dangers together with a partner, holding on despite the odds stacked against them. Immigrants, too, demonstrate tremendous strength and determination to overcome challenges and adversities. They adapt to new environments, language barriers, and cultural differences, all while striving to build a brighter future for themselves and their loved ones. Transformation and Growth: The chorus of "Out of the Woods" focuses on the concept of transformation, with Swift proclaiming that she came "out of the woods" and "got the hell out of" the emotionally tumultuous situation. Immigrants undergo a similar process of transformation, as they evolve in response to the new experiences they encounter. They learn to navigate complex systems, embrace diversity, and integrate into their adopted societies, fostering personal growth and development. Searching for Belonging: Throughout the song, Swift seeks to escape the "woods" and find a sense of belonging. Similarly, immigrants often embark on their journey in pursuit of a place where they can belong and be accepted for who they are. The longing for a new sense of home, community, and acceptance is a common thread that binds immigrants and the emotions expressed in "Out of the Woods." The Push and Pull of Identity: In "Out of the Woods," Swift explores the push and pull of emotions within a relationship. Similarly, immigrants may grapple with their identity, torn between their cultural roots and the need to assimilate into their new environment. Balancing one's heritage with the desire to adapt can be an ongoing struggle, but it also contributes to the richness of their unique immigrant experience. Taylor Swift's song "Out of the Woods" effectively captures the emotional rollercoaster of uncertainty, resilience, transformation, and the search for belonging—emotions that resonate deeply with the experiences of immigrants. As they embark on their journeys into the unknown, immigrants exhibit remarkable courage and determination in adapting to their new surroundings. Just as the song reflects Swift's growth and evolution, immigrants too find a profound transformation as they navigate through the challenges and opportunities presented by their new lives. Ultimately, both the song and the immigrant experience are testaments to the indomitable human spirit and the strength to overcome adversity.
    Alma J. Grubbs Education Scholarship
When I was a young girl living in Haiti I remember having to walk 2 maybe 3 miles to school every day, no matter what the weather was like people still went to school because it was a great privilege to be able to get an education. Understanding the struggle of living in a third-world country made me into the woman I am today. Not many people understand what it means to only do laundry on Tuesdays and Thursdays because those are the only days that water runs through the pipes in your house if you are lucky enough to have a house let alone pipes, or whenever it rains. Or the struggle to find clean water during the aftermath of an earthquake. I understand more than anyone the struggle that people face around the world to have the right to basic life essentials taken away from them, along with the right to free education stripped away from you at any time just because you can’t afford to pay for school. I can say from a first-hand account that not having access to education can have a major impact on someone's life. Learning new things is an essential aspect of life. No one can get through this thing called life alone and learning from your past struggles is the greatest tool anyone can have. Learning new things can open up doors of never before seen opportunities, that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to have. Being able to create new experiences for myself will help me understand who I am as a person. Figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life is the hardest question for high school graduates to answer because it requires a lot of soul-searching. It’s very difficult to know exactly what you’ll be happy doing for the rest of your life but being able to learn about different things that you may be passionate about is a privilege everyone should have. Everyone wants something different out of life and Being able to attend college will allow me to see what I am truly passionate about. College isn’t just 4 years of mundane classes and sleepless nights. Although that's a part of it, it’s about the journey and the people you meet along the way. Being able to meet new people with the same background as me and even people who are different from me is an essential part of becoming an adult. We must make an effort to see the world from other people's points of view. Not only will going to college give me the personal experiences that I need in life, but it will help me develop the leadership and organizational skills required for me to become a successful entrepreneur.
