I am an aspiring nurse with an expected graduation date of December 2023. I have over 10 years of healthcare experience and a genuine motivation to serve in underprivileged communities. My enthusiasm for serving areas of greatest need is displayed not only through my volunteer healthcare work with low-income populations but also in my work as a crisis counselor for those experiencing mental health difficulties. My career goals include establishing myself as a competent nurse and building my skills in order to safely treat patients. Long-term, I want to enter the growing field of nurse anesthetists and work in a high acuity environment where I am challenged daily and have the opportunity to help patients successfully through surgery. Any scholarship funds would help alleviate the financial pressures of my nursing school expenses and it will also help me achieve a balance between my roles as a student, mother, and wife by eliminating the need to maintain employment during my nursing program.
