I am a senior at Livingston High School and an aspiring physician who believes care starts long before a prescription. I serve as a Emergency Medical Technician with the Roseland First Aid Squad and as a patient-transport volunteer at Overlook Hospital. In the lab, I study chemotherapy resistance as a student researcher in Dr. Marvin Bayne’s group at Drew University, where I investigate etoposide-resistant mutations in human Topoisomerase IIα. I help lead HOSA at my school, founded the Neuroscience Club affiliated with IYNA, and organize doctor panels and community fundraisers. Academically I challenge myself by taking over 10 AP courses and I am in the top 5% of my class with a cumulative 4.64 GPA. These experiences taught me that medicine is science and service together. I hope to become a physician who combines evidence-based care with calm presence for patients and families.
