I am the first person to go to college in my family. I knew from an early age that I wanted to go to college and study business so I could be successful like my uncle Jeff. I was dealt some tremendous adversity on my journey, my mother passed away during my sophmore year in college. I knew that she would want me to continue on with my education. I graduated in 2005 and quickly sought a career in Finance and Accounting. In 2012, I started studying to become a CPA. I was able to pass all 4 parts on my first attempt which is something that fewer than 10% of candidates can accomplish. I have served in several different positions with organizations during my career. I have been a cost accountant, financial accountant, internal auditor, and data scientist. I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself both personally and professionally. This is why I am pursuing an MBA. I will someday be promoted to a senior or executive position in my company and want to develop the skills and accumen needed to make sound business decisions that will not only benefit the company, but also the employees that work for the company that are dependent on the decisions that I make. I am confident that obtaining this degree will help in that goal.

Being a dad is the greatest job I have ever had but also the toughest. There are no "days off", there are no breaks, you don't get to punch out at the end of the day. My journey to becoming a dad was difficult. My wife and I were not able to have children of our own but we had a deep desire to be parents. We realized that there were a lot of kids in need of loving homes so we decided to adopt. We started fostering our first child in 2016, he was two weeks old. A year later we started fostering his older brother. The fostering process was long and arduous and took 3 years.
I have always wanted to get an MBA, but various factors over the years have worked against my efforts. Things like staying up all night with an infant made it difficult to pursue an MBA. My children are getting older and time is a luxary I am starting to get back. I want to use my education for two purposes. I will someday be promoted to a senior or executive position of the company that I work for. I believe an MBA will strengthen my skills and my business accumen and will allow me to be successful in that role. I also want to be a role model for my children. I don't expect them to follow in my foot steps and go to grad school or even necessarily go to college. I just want to show them the value of hard work and what can be accomplished when you give your best.
I hope that by pursuing this degree, it will inspire my children to follow their dreams. All I wish for them is to give their best in all of their pursuits and to be happy. If they can accomplish this, I will be successful as a dad.

In my life I have deep convictions, but none more so than the value of human life, especially children. I always have loved children and wanted to be a father. Unfortunately my wife and I were unable to have children of our own. After a couple of years of struggling with fertility issues we came to the conclusion to adopt children. We first fostered a 2 week old that was born chemical dependent. We later learned that he had an older brother and we began fostering him also a year later. We adopted both boys in 2018 and nothing besides my faith in Christ has added more joy to my life.
I have always been pro life, but to come face to face daily with a childs innocence and unconditional love have strengthend those beliefs even further. I realize that I am only one person, but I serve a God that is able to do all things. I pray daily for this country to turn from abortion. I have also attended events where our Pastor has preached outside of abortion clinics, not out of hate, but out of love. I also vote my convictions and pray for the leaders of this country to do what is right in the sight of God.
