TRAM Purple Phoenix Scholarship
I plan to use my degree in hospitality and event management, along with my personal experiences, to create positive change by fostering inclusive, supportive environments and using the power of connection to make a difference. Growing up, I was involved in organizing school events, leading my cheerleading team, and helping others through mentorship, which has allowed me to develop a unique set of skills in communication, organization, and leadership. These experiences have shaped my perspective on the importance of community, teamwork, and empathy, and I’m determined to leverage these skills in my future career to create spaces where people feel valued, understood, and empowered.
One of my key goals is to use my career in hospitality and event management to design experiences that bring people together, create lasting memories, and promote positive social change. Whether it’s a community event, corporate retreat, or a hotel experience, I believe that hospitality is about creating spaces where people feel welcome and cared for. It’s not just about providing a service—it’s about fostering an environment that encourages connection, dialogue, and personal growth. Through my work, I plan to bring people from diverse backgrounds together, creating experiences that spark understanding, empathy, and collaboration.
In addition to creating these experiences, I am passionate about using my platform to raise awareness about important social issues, including domestic violence, mental health, and other causes that impact individuals and communities. By hosting events that shine a light on these issues and offer resources and support, I hope to make a difference in people’s lives and contribute to breaking down the stigma surrounding sensitive topics. My work in hospitality and event planning can provide a unique avenue for encouraging open conversations, offering resources, and connecting people to support networks that can help them navigate challenges.
Furthermore, my personal experiences have shaped my deep understanding of the importance of resilience and support. As someone who has overcome personal struggles, including balancing the demands of being a student-athlete and dealing with emotional challenges, I understand the importance of having a strong support system. I’ve learned that having people who believe in you and who offer encouragement can make all the difference in overcoming obstacles. I plan to use my role in hospitality to be a source of support and positivity for others, helping them feel empowered and understood.
Ultimately, my degree will allow me to combine my passion for event planning and my commitment to creating meaningful experiences with my drive to make a positive impact on the world. By fostering inclusive, supportive environments, I plan to use my skills to create lasting change—whether through hosting educational events, providing mentorship, or helping individuals connect with resources that can improve their lives. I’m excited to use my experiences and education to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered, creating a ripple effect of positive change in communities around the world.

One of my favorite local community events that I participated in was our high school’s annual Homecoming Week. I was actively involved in organizing the spirit week activities, planning the rally, and preparing the decorations for the dance. It was not just a school event; it was a celebration of our school’s culture and the sense of unity that I believe makes a community strong. As someone passionate about event planning and creating memorable experiences, I found the entire process incredibly meaningful, both personally and for the community.
The event started with spirit week, where students dressed up according to different themes each day, ranging from "Throwback Thursday" to "Class Color Day." This week was a time to showcase school pride and bring students together across grade levels. I was part of the team that designed and executed the decorations for the rally and dance. The 7x9 ft dragon poster that I outlined and painted over two days stands out as a highlight. Seeing my classmates’ reactions when they walked into the decorated hallway and gym filled me with pride. We all worked hard to create something special, and seeing the students interact with the space, taking photos and engaging with the decor, made every late night of planning and preparation worth it.
Homecoming was not just about the fun and games—it was about fostering a deeper sense of connection and unity within the school. The rally and dance allowed students to showcase their talents, cheer on our athletes, and create memories that would last long after the event. But what truly stood out was the way it brought different groups of people together. Freshmen and seniors mingled, shy students gained confidence, and everyone found a way to be part of something larger than themselves. It was a celebration of individuality and unity, and it was incredible to see how the event helped build stronger bonds within our school community.
The impact of this event was deeply personal for me. As someone who enjoys bringing people together and creating experiences that resonate with others, this event affirmed my passion for event planning. It also showed me how a well-executed event can foster a sense of belonging and pride, especially when it encourages participation from everyone. The homecoming festivities were a reminder that every detail counts, and that a small act of creativity—like the dragon poster—can make a big difference in how people experience and interact with the world around them.
If I could see positive changes as a result of this event, it would be a greater sense of community involvement year-round. The Homecoming Week was a reminder of how powerful and uplifting it can be when people come together to celebrate and support one another. In the future, I hope to see more initiatives that encourage local businesses to engage with students, that promote inclusivity and diversity in events, and that help students see their value and potential in their community. I want future events to continue fostering collaboration and involvement in ways that are both fun and meaningful, leaving a lasting impact on the community as a whole.
Female Athleticism Scholarship
WinnerBeing involved in cheerleading for four years, including one year as a team captain, has helped shape me into a confident, resilient, and empowered young woman—especially in a world where leadership and strength are often associated with male dominance. Balancing the physical demands of cheerleading with academic responsibilities and personal life has taught me discipline, time management, and the ability to stand firm in who I am, even in spaces where women are often underestimated or overlooked.
Cheerleading is frequently misunderstood or not taken as seriously as other sports, despite the strength, endurance, and mental toughness it requires. As a female athlete, I’ve experienced moments where people doubted the legitimacy of my sport or the work that goes into our performances. Instead of letting that discourage me, I used it as motivation to prove otherwise. Behind every routine are countless hours of practice, conditioning, and teamwork—and I’ve pushed myself through injuries, exhaustion, and self-doubt to lead my team with strength and pride.
At the same time, I had to learn how to balance schoolwork, leadership responsibilities, and life outside of cheer. There were days when I would go from classes straight to long practices, and then home to study or help my family. I didn’t have the option to slack off or fall behind. This taught me how to be organized, stay focused, and push through even when things felt overwhelming. It also taught me the importance of self-worth and using my voice, both on and off the mat.
As a team captain, I found power in uplifting others and leading with empathy. In many leadership spaces, especially in schools or sports, male voices tend to be louder or more dominant. But I learned that I didn’t have to change who I was to be respected—I just had to be confident in my abilities and stay true to my values. I created a team environment built on support, accountability, and trust. That experience showed me that being a strong female leader doesn’t mean being aggressive or overpowering—it means being consistent, compassionate, and fearless.
Cheer taught me how to advocate for myself, stand up for my team, and push boundaries in spaces where women are often underestimated. I carry those lessons with me into every area of life. Through sports, school, and leadership, I’ve grown into a young woman who is not afraid to take up space, lead with purpose, and fight for her place in the world.
Valerie Rabb Academic Scholarship
I am a determined and passionate individual with a strong interest in hospitality, event planning, and hotel management. Ever since I was young, I have found joy in organizing special moments—whether it was helping plan family celebrations, decorating school hallways for spirit week, or leading my cheer team during pep rallies. These experiences helped me realize that my passion lies in creating spaces and events that make people feel welcomed, celebrated, and connected. My goal is to turn that passion into a lifelong career, where I can bring joy to others while making a positive impact on the world around me.
I plan to pursue a degree in hospitality management with a focus on event coordination and hotel operations. Through my career, I hope to create environments where people from all walks of life feel safe, valued, and cared for—whether they are celebrating a major life event, traveling for work, or simply taking time to rest. I believe that hospitality is about more than service; it’s about people. Every guest, every event, and every moment is an opportunity to make someone’s experience meaningful. One of my long-term goals is to open my own event planning business or manage a hotel that partners with local vendors and supports the community by offering job training and internships to underrepresented youth.
However, my journey hasn’t always been easy. During high school, I faced a difficult period of emotional and physical exhaustion. Between balancing school, cheerleading, leadership responsibilities, and personal challenges at home, I often felt overwhelmed. There were moments when I doubted my ability to handle everything, and I struggled with stress and burnout. It took strength to admit that I needed help, but doing so was the turning point.
I leaned on my support system—coaches, teachers, friends, and family—who reminded me that it was okay to take a step back and care for myself. I began practicing better time management, setting boundaries, and prioritizing my mental health. I also learned to ask for help and to trust that I didn’t have to do everything alone. That experience taught me resilience and showed me the importance of self-care, which I now carry into all areas of my life.
Overcoming that adversity made me stronger, more empathetic, and more driven. It gave me a deeper understanding of how important it is to create supportive, inclusive spaces—something I plan to do in my career. I want to use my experiences to help others feel seen and supported, and to build a future in hospitality that uplifts not just individuals, but entire communities. With hard work, compassion, and a clear purpose, I’m excited to make a lasting, positive impact on the world.
Willie Mae Rawls Scholarship
I am a dedicated and creative individual with a strong passion for hospitality, event planning, and creating meaningful experiences that bring people together. Throughout my life, I’ve naturally gravitated toward roles that involve organizing, leading, and connecting with others. Whether it was planning themed birthday parties for my younger siblings, decorating my school for spirit week, or leading my cheer team at events and competitions, I found joy in the behind-the-scenes work that makes special moments come to life. These experiences inspired me to pursue a future in hospitality and event management, where I can use my talents to make a positive impact on others.
As a student, I’ve always balanced academics with extracurricular activities, most notably my four years as a cheerleader—one of which I served as team captain. That role taught me discipline, time management, and how to lead with empathy. I’ve also taken on leadership roles within my school, contributing to event planning, school-wide activities, and mentorship of younger students. Each of these opportunities helped me strengthen my organizational skills, develop confidence, and understand how small efforts can lead to big impacts.
I plan to pursue a degree in hospitality management, with a focus on event coordination and hotel operations. My ultimate goal is to become a hotel manager or run my own event planning company, where I can bring people together for meaningful celebrations, conferences, and community events. I want to work in spaces where people feel welcomed, heard, and cared for—no matter their background or reason for visiting. To me, hospitality is about more than service; it’s about connection and creating a lasting emotional impact.
Beyond my career goals, I am also passionate about making hospitality more inclusive and accessible. I want to create opportunities for young people—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—to learn about and enter this industry. One of my long-term goals is to offer internships and mentorships through my future business or workplace, helping others grow the way I’ve been supported throughout my journey.
I also hope to support local communities by partnering with small businesses, artists, and vendors when planning events. By doing so, I can uplift others while creating one-of-a-kind experiences that reflect the unique spirit of each place I work.
Through my studies and future career, I want to create spaces where people feel valued, celebrated, and inspired. I believe that kindness, creativity, and hard work can make a real difference in the world—and I am excited to bring those values into every step of my journey in hospitality.
Electric Cycle Studio Student Athlete Scholarship
As a student-athlete, I’ve learned firsthand the importance of dedication, teamwork, and resilience—both on the field and in the classroom. For four years, I was part of my high school’s cheerleading team, and during my senior year, I had the honor of serving as team captain. Balancing the demands of academics and athletics wasn’t always easy, but it taught me how to stay focused, manage my time, and push through challenges with determination.
Dedication is a quality I’ve developed through countless hours of practice, performances, and school events. Cheerleading required more than just physical skill—it demanded consistency, mental toughness, and full commitment. I often trained late into the evening after school, sometimes going straight from class to practice without a break. Even when I was tired or stressed, I reminded myself why I started. I knew my team was counting on me, and I wasn’t going to let them down. That same level of commitment translated into my academics, where I worked hard to maintain good grades and complete assignments on time, even during competition season.
Teamwork has been at the core of everything I’ve done as a student-athlete. In cheer, success depends on trust and communication. Whether performing stunts or choreographing a routine, we had to be in sync and support one another. As captain, I made it a priority to create a positive team culture where everyone felt included, motivated, and valued. I learned how to listen, resolve conflicts, and lead by example. Those lessons in teamwork also helped me in group projects and leadership roles at school, where collaboration was key to organizing events and solving problems effectively.
Resilience became one of my strongest qualities through the ups and downs of being a student-athlete. There were times when I dealt with physical exhaustion, injuries, or the disappointment of losing competitions. Outside of cheer, I also faced personal challenges that tested my emotional strength. Still, I kept showing up—because I knew that resilience isn’t about never falling; it’s about getting back up each time. I learned to lean on my support system, take care of my mental health, and grow from every obstacle.
Being a student-athlete has shaped who I am today. It’s taught me to set goals, stay disciplined, and uplift those around me. I’ve learned how to work hard, lead with empathy, and stay strong when things get tough. These are lessons I’ll carry with me far beyond high school—into college, my future career, and the rest of my life.
Sylvester Taylor "Invictus" Hospitality Scholarship
I envision using my passion for hospitality to create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and cared for. To me, hospitality is not just about providing a service—it’s about making people feel like they belong. In a world that often moves too fast and can feel disconnected, I want to bring warmth, intentionality, and human connection into every event, hotel stay, or guest experience I help create.
My long-term goal is to work in hotel management and event planning, combining my creativity, organizational skills, and empathy to make a lasting impact on others. I’ve already had the opportunity to plan school events, lead cheer teams, and work with kids at camps—each experience reminding me how important the small details are in creating something memorable. Whether I’m decorating a venue, managing a guest list, or welcoming someone to a hotel, I want every interaction to leave people feeling appreciated and at ease.
But beyond individual moments, I want to use hospitality to make a broader difference. One of my biggest goals is to eventually open my own event planning company or manage a hotel that focuses not only on guest experience but also on community impact. I want to create internships for young people interested in hospitality, especially those from underserved backgrounds who may not see themselves represented in this field. I hope to partner with local vendors and businesses, helping to boost local economies while delivering personalized, meaningful experiences to guests.
Inclusivity and diversity are also central to my vision. I believe hospitality should reflect and celebrate the differences that make people unique. I want to ensure that all guests and team members, regardless of their background, culture, or identity, feel respected, safe, and understood.
Hospitality has the power to bring people together—to celebrate, to rest, to connect, and to heal. I want to be a part of creating those moments, knowing that even the smallest gesture can have a big impact. Whether I’m helping someone celebrate a milestone, enjoy a vacation, or attend a special event, I want to leave them with a lasting feeling of comfort and joy. Through hospitality, I hope to make the world a little more welcoming, one guest at a time.

One of the most challenging times in my life came during my junior year, when I was balancing school, cheerleading, leadership responsibilities, and personal struggles at home. The pressure became overwhelming, and I began to feel emotionally and physically drained. I questioned whether I could handle it all, and for a while, I didn’t feel like myself. But instead of giving up, I learned to ask for help. I leaned on my mentors, talked with my coaches, and prioritized my mental health. I also learned to manage my time better and give myself grace during hard days. That experience taught me resilience and the importance of self-care. It reminded me that weakness is not failure—it’s an opportunity to grow stronger.
Overcoming that difficult period gave me the strength and perspective I needed to push forward. It showed me that I’m capable of more than I thought and that it’s okay to struggle—as long as I keep moving forward. Now, I carry those lessons with me into every challenge I face.
With this scholarship, I would be able to take the next big step toward my goals. I’m ready to work hard, learn continuously, and use my experiences to uplift others. This Woman's Worth Scholarship
I am worth the dreams I aspire to achieve because I have worked hard to build the mindset, values, and experiences needed to succeed in the hospitality industry. My passion for creating meaningful and memorable experiences for others stems from years of planning events, leading teams, and understanding how the smallest details can make a big impact. Whether organizing school dances, decorating hallways for spirit week, or coordinating cheerleading events, I have learned that bringing people together takes patience, creativity, and a deep sense of empathy—skills I have cultivated through every challenge I’ve faced.
What sets me apart is my ability to stay calm under pressure and find solutions when plans change. Hospitality and event planning often require quick thinking and adaptability, and I’ve learned these traits through my involvement in student leadership and cheer. As a cheer captain, I balanced intense practices, competitions, and academic responsibilities while mentoring teammates and setting a positive example. I know how to lead with empathy and make people feel seen and supported, and that’s something I bring into every space I enter.
My interest in hotel management is rooted in the idea of creating comfort and excellence for guests from all walks of life. I want to help design experiences that make people feel at home, whether they are traveling for business, celebrating a milestone, or just taking a break from the world. I believe that every guest, like every person, deserves to be treated with care and respect. That belief drives me to pursue this dream—not just for myself, but for the people I hope to serve.

Aserina Hill Memorial Scholarship
I am a high school student with a deep passion for event planning, leadership, and creating meaningful connections within my community. Throughout my high school career, I have committed myself to extracurricular activities that allow me to develop both personally and professionally. For the past four years, I have been involved in cheerleading, where I spent one year as captain. This experience helped me develop essential skills such as teamwork, perseverance, and leadership, all of which have contributed to my growth as both an individual and a leader. My time as captain, in particular, taught me how to manage a team, make quick decisions under pressure, and inspire my peers to perform at their best.
In addition to my athletic endeavors, I have also dedicated time to planning school events, taking on leadership roles for two years. My experience organizing events such as rallies, dances, and spirit weeks has been incredibly rewarding. One of my most memorable projects was planning my freshman year homecoming. I designed a large dragon poster that I outlined and painted over the course of two days, and I helped decorate the hallways, contributing to the overall theme of the event. This experience solidified my passion for event planning and taught me how every little detail plays a significant role in creating a memorable experience for others.
Outside of school, I find fulfillment in teaching kids to dance and leading camps that encourage them to step out of their comfort zones. This has allowed me to develop a strong ability to connect with diverse groups of people, whether through mentorship, collaboration, or empathy. As a coach, I work to create an environment that fosters confidence and growth, ensuring that each child feels supported while learning new skills. My greatest strength lies in my emotional intelligence and ability to connect with others on a deeper level, anticipating their needs and creating a positive atmosphere where everyone can thrive.
Looking toward the future, I plan to pursue a career in hospitality with a focus on event planning. I believe that my passion for creating memorable moments, combined with my organizational skills and creativity, will allow me to excel in this field. Whether it's planning small, intimate gatherings or large, community-wide events, I enjoy the challenge of balancing diverse personalities and preferences while ensuring that every aspect of the event runs smoothly.
If I were to start my own charity, I would focus on providing underprivileged children with the opportunity to explore their creativity through dance, art, and performance. I’ve always believed in the power of creative expression as a means of building self-confidence, fostering a sense of belonging, and encouraging personal growth. This charity would serve children from low-income communities who may not have access to extracurricular activities that nurture their talents. Volunteers would be responsible for teaching dance, art, and theater workshops, mentoring the children to help them build skills, and organizing community performances to showcase their work. Additionally, the charity would provide resources such as costumes, art supplies, and access to local performances and events to enhance the children’s experiences. By providing these opportunities, the charity would not only give children the chance to express themselves but also empower them to pursue their dreams and embrace their unique talents.

Beyond just organizing events, I want to use my education to mentor others in the community. I plan to volunteer at local schools, guiding students who may not have access to event planning resources or support. I know firsthand how transformative it can be when someone takes the time to show you the ropes and believes in your potential, and I want to provide that for the next generation of leaders and creatives.
Ultimately, my college education will allow me to blend creativity with practicality to make a meaningful impact. Whether it’s through hosting inclusive events or empowering others to take charge in their own communities, I am determined to use my skills to give back and inspire change.
