I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Walden University pursuing a career in clinical behavioral health with a focus on trauma-informed care and substance use recovery. My path to social work is grounded in lived experience, including navigating complex trauma, managing clinical depression, and sustaining long-term recovery. These experiences have shaped both my perspective and my purpose. I understand firsthand the challenges individuals face when seeking support and the importance of consistent, person-centered care. I am currently completing an unpaid practicum as part of my MSW program, gaining hands-on experience in behavioral health and recovery-oriented services. In addition to my academic and professional goals, I am a parent to a child with dyslexia, which has strengthened my commitment to advocacy, patience, and long-term development within both educational and clinical systems. My goal is to become a clinical social worker serving individuals affected by trauma, mental health conditions, and substance use disorders. I am committed to contributing to a more accessible, compassionate, and effective behavioral health system.
