The business I hope to build is more than an organization. It is a dream shaped by love, loss, and purpose. If my brother, Daylen, were still alive, I believe we would have created a youth mentoring organization together. After his tragic death in a car accident, I was left with a deep void, but I continue to carry his memory with me. I want to build something that reflects the kindness, compassion, and determination we both valued while supporting young people who need encouragement to succeed. Our organization would serve youth facing adversity such as poverty, grief, family struggles, and uncertainty about the future. Every child deserves someone who believes in them, listens to them, and encourages them to dream beyond their circumstances. Through mentoring, academic support, leadership workshops, financial literacy education, career exploration, and community service opportunities, I hope to help young people recognize their potential and build confidence. I also want to partner with schools and local businesses to provide internships and scholarships that open doors to higher education and meaningful careers. My decision to pursue a business degree is directly tied to this vision. Although my passion is serving others, I know that building a successful organization requires leadership, financial management, strategic planning, and communication. I want to gain the knowledge and skills needed to create a sustainable organization that can grow, reach more families, and make a lasting impact. My education will give me the tools to turn this dream into reality. Losing my brother changed how I view life. It reminded me that tomorrow is never promised and that the greatest legacy we can leave is the difference we make in others’ lives. I often imagine the conversations Daylen and I would have shared as we planned our future. Even though those moments will never happen, I believe I can still honor him by continuing the dream we would have shared. My Christian faith has been my greatest source of strength throughout this journey. I believe God can bring purpose from pain and transform heartbreak into hope. Instead of allowing grief to define my future, I have chosen to let it inspire my commitment to serving others. I want every young person who enters our organization to know they are valued, capable, and created with purpose. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to continue my education, prepare for leadership, and build an organization that honors Daylen while creating hope for others.
