I've always been a persistent, hard worker, and have always strived to achieve my goals. All throughout high school I stayed dedicated to my studies and extracurriculars. I was a part of JROTC, a member of a Girl Scout troop, Captain of the armed drill and color guard team, volunteered in my community, and worked as a manager at Bahama Bucks. Now I'm in the US Army and work at the NAS JRB base in Fort Worth as a helicopter mechanic. I'm determined to keep working towards my goals and I'm working towards getting my degree in interior design at RMCAD.

My dreams and inspirations are rooted in my family. They planted the seed for my aspirations, and continue to push me to become the most successful version of myself. Because of them, I’m growing into the person I hope to be. In my creative career, I want to work in both commercial and residential projects creating work that is sustainable, beautiful, and meaningful. I aim to design spaces that support the environment by using creative technologies and innovative methods to reduce impact and promote long-term sustainability. Creating interiors people can connect with and describe as original and interesting. Along with being a successful designer I want to continue giving back to my community and keep helping improve local environments.
I enjoy creating impactful spaces for businesses while also designing personal, meaningful environments that people can truly call home. My main goal in design is to focus on sustainability by creating spaces that are not only enjoyable and functional, but also built to last and support the environment around them. I am especially interested in using creative technologies and new design methods to reduce environmental impact and make spaces more efficient. In the future, I hope to create and run my own design firm that reflects these values, producing work that is both beautiful and practical across all types of projects, while also making a positive difference in the communities they serve.
People would describe what I create as intentional and detail-oriented. Viewers say I design with purpose, making sure that each decision has meaning and contributes to the overall experience of the space. Others have also described my work as compassionate, since I try to approach each project with empathy and put myself in the position of the people who will be using the space. This helps me create designs that are not only functional and visually appealing, but also thoughtful and personal to the people they are made for. Additionally, people say my designs reflect thoughtful choices that support and enhance the spaces around them.
I contribute to my community by volunteering as much as I can and staying actively involved in service projects. I have completed over 400 hours of volunteer service and earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for my efforts. Some of the projects include earning my Girl Scout Gold Award by collecting materials to create over 300 individual survival kits for people experiencing homelessness, as well as building a website to educate others about homelessness and how they can help in their own communities. Additionally, when I lived in Maryland, I started a community library in my apartment complex to help kids who didn’t have easy access to a public library outside of school, even adding small incentives to encourage reading and engagement. These experiences have helped me understand the importance of taking initiative and finding ways to support the needs of people around me.
Overall, my goals as a designer and as a person are closely connected through my values of family, sustainability, and community impact. I want to continue growing into a designer who creates intentional, meaningful work that not only meets the needs of clients but also considers the long-term effects on the environment and the people who use these spaces. My experiences have taught me the importance of empathy, creativity, and responsibility in both design and service, and I plan to carry those lessons into my future career. By combining my passion for design with my commitment to giving back, I hope to build a career that is both personally fulfilling and beneficial to the communities and environments I work within.
