Hi! I am currently a senior in high school making my post-graduation plans.
So far in my life, I've developed my interests through activities outside of school: I've volunteered at my local zoo for two years, where I educated the public on sustainability and worked with kids as a camp counselor assistant, fostered kittens, and took part in Odyssey of the Mind. Through this, I now know that I am most fulfilled when learning, educating, and helping others, and I want to continue doing that for the foreseeable future.
I am most passionate about traveling. I come from a multicultural household, with an American mother and a Swedish father, who's also a pilot, so I've grown up hearing about different cultures and places. Now, one of my favorite side hobbies is learning about geography and geopolitics and making future travel itineraries.
My goal is to study International Relations and work in either diplomatic affairs, development, or international aid, where I can have a direct, positive influence on people's lives. Since IR is often multidisciplinary, I hope to also obtain a Master's degree and specialize in the subject I grow most interested in during my first four years of university.
One of my main priorities is also attending university in a foreign country. My dream schools include Lund University, UC3M, and Anglo-American University in Prague.
Fun Facts: I've been doing Krav Maga for two years, and love to rollerblade.

It was only last year when I started to consider what makes a brand worthwhile shopping from. After some digging, I learned about unethical practices that persist throughout many well-known companies and made the decision to focus on finding ones that made long-lasting products and valued sustainability. I choose my favorites based on ethicality and quality. Good On You is a brand directory that grades clothing companies based on how they treat their workers, and what effects they have on the environment and animals. Usually, for clothes, I shop in person at second-hand stores, but when I want to buy things first-hand such as workout clothes, Good On You is brilliant for discovering small, sustainable brands. Package Free Shop is a distributor that sells products ranging from dusters to toothbrushes, all aiming at reducing daily plastic-usage. I buy things from them that I plan on using for a long time, such as water bottles and containers. Ethique is a New Zealand based company that mainly sells beauty bar products, such as body wash, in compostable packaging. They are 100% plastic-free, carbon-neutral, source their materials with direct trading, and have great smelling shampoo. I use them to buy personal hygiene products.

I often enjoy fostering kittens from my local animal shelter, and typically the only issues I have to deal with are fleas or ear mites. However, the two kittens I cared for last summer were malnourished, matted with feces, and suffering from severe eye infections. It was the most difficult case I had ever dealt with as they needed many medications, and surgery to remove an eye each, but it was worth it. This is my boldest moment because I made such a huge difference in these animals' lives, and many would not take on a case this high risk.
