I believe that mandatory global action to fight climate change is a necessity going forward. The unfortunate reality of environmentalism is that it is very depressing and negative in our current political and social climate. I believe that the "we can't undo harm" and "it's already too late" mindset has permeated the consciousness of the current generation and inaction has followed in consequence. Integration of policy. Normalization of sustainability. Global call to action has the potential to spark a new breath of hope within the rising generation and can bring a sense of importance to harm reduction. Simply, policy would not be actively pushed and made. if the world and the environment was a lost cause. By bringing hope to people there will be an importance imbedded into the culture of individual actions towards sustainability. The world is a deeply interconnected, environment is not stopped by human made boarders, as the world has globalized we need to start thinking globally. Environmental issues are not partisan. There is no country that will be unaffected by environmental harm. Natural disasters are becoming increasingly prevalent and as international aid is stretched increasingly thin, a shift needs to happen. It is unrealistic to endlessly support places affected by climate change caused natural disasters instead of putting time, effort, policy, and real change to stop and reverse climate change. A more hopeful and compassionate society needs to rise and be able to join hands with one another so humans can continue to flourish and steward the Earth.
