I'm studying Creative Writing because I have always held an affinity for it. Even if on some days I feel like I am no good at it, I remember that I can always improve through experience and with confidence. In writing classes I have taken within college, I have shared my work with my peers, and receiving praise for my stories, poems, etc. always lifts my spirits up, and I think that is what makes writing worthwhile; the audience and the readers. Of course, constructive criticism is always something I welcome and encourage from others in order to help me improve. I cannot say for myself what my skills will lead for my future. I know I want to continue writing, but where I wish to continue is still a mystery for me. I am currently taking a semester off of class because I still need to pay off my classes from my last year, which is why I am applying for this scholarship. Being able to resume classes next spring would mean the world to me.
