My goal during and after college is to become a psychologist. If I am able to accomplish this, it will give me a chance to help others in many different ways. I am open to many areas of the subject, although I have a particular interest in forensic psychology. I want to work my hardest to receive the best education I can in order to achieve this goal. It isn’t just the school or the degree, In order to do so my values of hard work, determination, and accountability will help me grow and expand my knowledge in order to achieve the goal of a good education. Because it doesn’t just come from a teacher or books, it can come from the world around you too. Like I previously stated, I want to be a psychologist in order to help people and understand how a individual thinks in order to understand how each person in this world can experience something entirely different then those around them. This goes along with my interest in sociology, understanding one’s actions and how a society functions can greatly impact a individuals mind. I also have a interest in creative writing and English studies, I have taken 2 creative writing classes and AP English. I helped put together a literary magazine for the school as well as wrote my own submissions 2 years in a row. I feel like some of the qualities of being a good psychologist can be taught from reading and writing. It shows how many different perspectives and views there are of the world, be it fictional or factual writing.

    Reading has always been a source of happiness for me. Reading is experiencing a whole new world within your own mind. Reading gives me and so many others the chance to explore and branch on ideas that would’ve never come to pass if there wasn’t a spark. There are many things in this world that have been done and invented, yet new things will be made as long as there is creativity left in the world. What better way to think of something new, then dream of things that defy worldly constructs. To me, that aforementioned spark was Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone. Some may say it’s just a fictional book full of imaginary things. They are right but not completely. The book was made to bring joy and happiness, it definitely did the job with 7 more books following and 8 movies. Its a mystical adventure full of mystery and friendship that begs people to read more. But not only that, it shows the extraordinary places the mind can go with the right spark. Everyone builds a structure within their mind for how things look when reading, this shows how different people can get different ideas from the same words in a book. In this essay I use the word spark as if a bright light appeared, even if only for a moment, but it was enough to bring a brand new creation with it. J.K Rowling is the writer of the franchise and she is an example of expressing the amazing things that can be created within the human mind. It can draw up things that someone never thought possible until it’s done. Everyone sees characters, places, or even items in a book different then someone else. There will always be something new. I believe if there’s any book in the world that people should read it’s Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone. There are many factual books that can be impactful as well, but a fictional story helps provide evidence to the idea that there is no limits when it comes to passion and imagination. Your brain can grow and expand whole new worlds and ideas if you just let it. This can bring fourth a influx of inventions and ideas that can improve the world as we know it. Sure it won’t bring magic wands, but it will bring something even greater. Creativity.
