I am an aspiring engineer with a strong passion for anything mechanical, from dirt bikes and racing to automation and innovation. This summer, I completed an internship at an engineering firm where I helped design and implement robotic welders into production, gaining valuable hands on experience in real world engineering applications. Over the past year, I have worked 30 hours a week at my part-time job while maintaining a 4.0 GPA, demonstrating my drive, time management, and commitment to excellence. I’m a go getter with an entrepreneurial mindset, always looking for new challenges and opportunities to create, build, and problem solve. My ultimate goal is to combine my love for engineering with my determination and creativity to make a meaningful impact in the field.

Alexander Hipple Recovery Scholarship
This past July, I experienced a loss that has profoundly changed my life. My cousin, who was only 17 years old, passed away in a car accident. What makes this loss even more devastating is that he struggled with an addiction to pills and alcohol. He was not only my cousin but also my best friend, someone I shared laughter, secrets, and countless memories with. Losing Carson has left a void in my heart that is impossible to fill, and it has forced me to confront the fragility of life in ways I never imagined.
Despite his struggles, I always knew my cousin had a pure and genuine heart. He was caring, kind, and full of potential. Addiction is a cruel and unforgiving sickness, and it is heartbreaking to see someone so young and full of promise impacted by it. His life, though tragically short, taught me about resilience, empathy, and the importance of cherishing the people we love while we have them. I often reflect on the times we spent together the laughter, the shared dreams, and the quiet moments of understanding and I remind myself that those memories define him just as much as his struggles.
This experience has changed me deeply. It has made me more aware of the silent battles many people face and strengthened my compassion for others who struggle with addiction or other hardships. I have learned the importance of speaking openly about mental health and offering support to those who feel isolated or overwhelmed. Losing him has inspired me to be more present in my own life, to value my relationships, and to act with intention, kindness, and understanding. I have realized how fleeting life can be and how vital it is to express love and care to those around me.
While I will always grieve his absence, I strive to honor his memory by remembering the person he truly was someone full of laughter, love, and potential. His life, though cut tragically short, serves as a reminder to cherish each day, to support those in need, and to live with empathy and purpose. The impact of losing my cousin will stay with me forever, but I hope to channel that pain into becoming a more compassionate, resilient, and caring individual, carrying forward the lessons his life and struggles have taught me.
I am deeply honored to be considered for this scholarship, and my heart truly goes out to the family of Alexander. It is a privilege to be in the running for an opportunity that supports students in pursuing their dreams while also reflecting on the importance of compassion, empathy, and giving back to the community.
