My journey through academics has been challenging and rewarding. Through high school I have shown high achievement through awards and outcomes. I have maintained high grades while taking AP and honors classes. This has been paired with Sports such as Football and Wrestling, and clubs like FCA Leadership. It has not all been positive. Having to deal with adversity with mental health battles, finances and other personal issues. It has been rewarding and continues to give me more opportunities. I have the honor to go to college to peruse my passion for school, getting my major in education and playing football. I am involved in my church for student ministry and the worship team.
Growing up in a divorced household has meant that financial responsibilities are split and limited, leaving me without the kind of support many students rely on when entering college. As I prepare for higher education, I know I will be responsible for paying for most of my expenses on my own, including tuition, housing, and everyday costs. Because of this, I expect to rely heavily on student loans, which makes financial aid especially important for me. Receiving support would not only ease the burden of taking on significant debt at a young age, but also allow me to focus on my education and future career without the constant stress of financial strain.
Protecting children and youth from bullying, both in person and online, starts with creating environments where respect is expected and harmful behavior is addressed immediately. In my community, I believe this begins with adults and mentors staying present, paying attention, and stepping in early when they notice exclusion, teasing, or aggression. It also means teaching young people how to communicate, resolve conflict, and stand up for themselves and others in safe and healthy ways. Online, safety comes from helping youth understand privacy settings, the importance of not sharing personal information, and how to recognize when someone’s behavior becomes inappropriate or threatening. Encouraging open conversations about what they experience whether at school or behind a screen is essential, because silence allows bullying to continue. When adults respond consistently and supportively, without blaming the victim, young people learn that they are not alone and that their community is committed to protecting them. My goal is to help create spaces where every child feels confident, connected, and safe, both face to face and online.
As I take the next steps toward college, I am motivated by everything I have overcome and everything I hope to give back. My experiences both the challenges and the achievements have shaped me into someone who works hard, leads with empathy, and wants to make a real difference in the lives of others. Higher education is not just a personal goal for me; it is the path that will allow me to pursue my passion for teaching, serve my community, and continue growing as a leader on and off the field. With the support of this scholarship, I can focus on becoming the kind of educator, teammate, and role model who helps young people feel seen, supported, and capable of achieving more than they ever thought possible. I am committed to using every opportunity I’m given to build a future defined by service, resilience, and purpose.
Thank you for your time.

Losing my grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt all within the same month was the most significant and painful loss I have ever faced, and it reshaped my life in ways I never expected. My grandmother Linda was not only family but also my best friend, someone I could talk to about anything, and her passing left me feeling broken and uncertain about how to move forward. The grief was overwhelming, and at first I struggled to stay focused in school and on the football field, questioning how I could keep pushing when the people I loved most were gone. Yet, as time passed, I realized that honoring their memory meant living with strength and determination, not giving up. Their deaths taught me resilience and reminded me that life is fragile, so every opportunity matters. I egan to channel my pain into motivation, using football as an outlet to release my emotions and academics as a way to build a future they would be proud of. Instead of letting grief define me, I chose to let it drive me, and I now strive to excel both on the field and in the classroom. This experience changed my outlook by teaching me to appreciate the people I have in my life, to work harder than ever, and to carry the lessons of love and perseverance that my grandmother Linda instilled in me. I le arned that setbacks do not have to be permanent, and that even in moments of deep sadness, there is room for growth. Fotball became more than just a sport—it became a symbol of discipline, teamwork, and the drive to keep moving forward no matter how heavy the burden feels. Academics became more than just gradesthey became a pathway to opportunities that could honor the sacrifices and love of my family. I now approach each day with gratitude, knowing that my success is not just for me but also a tribute to those I lost. Their memory pushes me to set higher goals, to dream bigger, and to never take my education or my passions for granted. Today, I live with a deeper sense of purpose, determined to use my education and my commitment to football to create a better future for myself and to inspire others who face hardship to keep moving forward, showing them that even in the darkest times, strength and hope can emerge. Thank you for your time and consideration

Education has always been more than just a series of classes or assignments for me; it has been the guiding force that shaped my ambitions, clarified my values, and provided me with a sense of direction when life felt uncertain. From the earliest days of school, I realized that learning was not simply about memorizing facts but about discovering possibilities, and each subject I encountered opened a new window into the world. Mathematics taught me discipline and problem-solving, literature gave me empathy and the ability to see life through different perspectives, and science revealed the beauty of curiosity and experimentation. These experiences collectively helped me understand that education is not confined to textbooks but is a lifelong journey of growth. As I progressed through my academic years, I began to see how the lessons I absorbed could be applied beyond the classroom, shaping my goals in ways that were both personal and communal. I learned that success is not measured solely by grades or accolades but by the ability to use knowledge to make a meaningful difference. This realization gave me a sense of purpose: to pursue a path where my education could empower me to uplift others, whether through mentorship, service, or innovation. Yet, the journey was not without challenges. One of the most significant obstacles I faced was balancing academic responsibilities with personal commitments. There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, and I struggled to manage deadlines while also supporting my family and participating in extracurricular activities. These moments tested my resilience, forcing me to develop discipline and time management skills that I had not previously mastered. Another challenge was overcoming self-doubt. Like many students, I sometimes questioned whether I was capable enough to achieve my goals, especially when faced with setbacks or failures. It was through the encouragement of teachers, peers, and my own determination that I learned to view mistakes not as evidence of inadequacy but as opportunities to grow. Limited resources also posed difficulties at times, as I did not always have access to the newest technology or study materials. Instead of allowing these limitations to hold me back, I became resourceful, turning to libraries, online tools, and creative problem-solving to bridge the gaps. These challenges, though difficult, ultimately strengthened me, teaching me that perseverance and adaptability are as important as intelligence. They also deepened my empathy, reminding me that many others face similar struggles and that education should be a tool for equity, not exclusion. Looking ahead, I hope to use my education to create a better future not only for myself but for those around me. On a personal level, I see education as the key to unlocking opportunities that will allow me to pursue a career aligned with my passions, whether in teaching, community development, or another field where knowledge can be applied to solve real problems. More importantly, I aspire to mentor younger students, sharing with them the lessons I have learned about resilience, curiosity, and the importance of believing in oneself. I want to show them that challenges can be stepping stones rather than barriers, and that education is a powerful tool for transformation. Beyond individual mentorshi, I envision using my education to contribute to broader community initiatives, whether through volunteering, creating programs that expand access to learning, or advocating for policies that make education more inclusive. I believe that the true value of education lies in its ability to inspire collective progress, and I want to be part of that mvement. Ultimately, education has been my compass, guiding me toward resilience, empathy, and ambition. It has taught me that knowledge is not static but dynamic, constantly evolving and expanding, and that my role is to engage with it actively, applying it in ways that foster growth and understanding. The challenges I have overcome have not only shaped my character but also clarified my mission: to use what I have learned to build a future where knowledge is shared opportunities are expanded, and growth is collective. In this way, education has given me both direction and determination, and I carry forward the conviction that with persistence, empathy, and a commitment to learning, I can create a future that is brighter not only for myself but for others as well. My home life was never the greatest, but because I was so involved in school and extra curriculars it make my life so much more enjoyable. I hope that my education will not only set up my future but also thousands of kids because of my dream to teach.
