Bio

I am passionate about sports especially football. I write up plays and watch film. I played sports all my life. I started from a young age playing soccer and tee ball and basketball and eventually football. I always excelled, played sports year round and made elite or all star teams winning many championships in several sports. I got a lot of personal satisfaction from it but also a lot of good fundamentals and foundation. I played three sports throughout Junior high eventually dropped basketball, after earning MVP for the freshman team, to focus on off-season baseball workouts to make Varsity. I always show up. Optional is not optional. I love the brotherhood of sports especially my last season of high school football getting from a 1-10 team the prior season to the EPC champions and District XI playoff game.

I decided to share a speech I wrote. I was asked and honored to deliver this as the most senior athlete of my team, rostered exclusively on Varsity for all four years of PME football. I delivered it at our annual East-West breakfast with our same school district rivals the day before the big game, the Pride of the Mountain.
First off, I want to thank the administration, staff, coaches and players, and also the Chartwells staff for preparing this wonderful breakfast for us. As we all know, it's been a rough past three years for us. I've been a four-year starter on this team and we have only accumulated four wins in those three years before this season. I remember the criticism we would get in school about always losing and it was straight-up embarrassing. Now we have two more wins than that just from this season alone. (Well, it’s gonna be three more wins by tomorrow!) This change has not just shown on the field. A big reason is from the team chemistry we have now. Speaking for my seniors, we have seen the change, and it is up to the underclassmen to keep the culture alive. Everyone on this team is FAMILY. When we play for our brothers with the bond that we have, there is absolutely no one that can stop us. This has been a historic year for us whether its winning more games then we had in a while, records being broken, having a 1000-yards rusher, or beating teams we haven't beaten in years, this team is a historic squad, and we are nowhere near done yet. Another big reason for this historic season is our Head Coach, Coach Thomas. He took us under his wing, not knowing what he would get. But he knew one thing, he wanted to not only change our record, but to change the culture that was left here. And, I think it's safe to say he is doing that. When we win tomorrow night, it will make him the winningest coach in a single season in Pocono Mountain East HISTORY. The love and care that he has for his players is unmatched. Whether it’s making sure we are staying on top of things in the classroom, or just making sure we are making the right decisions and choices as pre-adults, the team and I respect him so much, and we are extremely grateful that we can call him our coach. As for the Pride of the Mountain game, this is a huge game for both teams. Both teams have winning records for the first time in a while. It will be a pure dogfight both ways. Even though some of us might not like each other, at the end of the day we are all Pocono Mountain and one school district with this game bringing us all together. As for me and my fellow seniors, we haven't even touched the Pride of the Mountain trophy, but we will take care of it and bring that home tomorrow night!  I got one more thing: some wise words from a wise, Shakespearean man straight outta Harlem, New York.  “GREEN GRASS TOUCHDOWN” You're gonna be seeing a lot of that tomorrow night! Thank you!
P.S.- We won!
