Hi, I am trying to get as many scholarships as I can so I will be able to go to college. My parents were unable to go to college and also can not help me pay for college in the coming years. The story of someone's life is like snowflakes in a winter storm, each one is unique and beautiful in its own way. As I have grown up, I have found that my story is unlike many other peoples around me due to how I was raised and the experiences I have indured through. One thing that has greatly affected who I have become is my family. I live in a christian family and our faith is very important to us. This makes my family different from other families in that we do not have the same problems other families do. This is also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do. Although I am excluded from activities some other people my age do, I feel that my christian family has given me the best chance to succeed and make smarter choices in life. Another thing that makes my family different from others is that I have two adopted siblings. Growing my family from four to six people. This experience has shown me that not everyone has the same opportunities in life as I have and that both the good and the bad of someone's past influences who they are. When they first came to live with us they needed to be shown compassion when they might not deserve it. That their previous lifestyle has led to different emotional patterns that are unlike the other people in my household. I have been taught that while I don't agree with what some people do, that there is a reason for their actions. This part of my past has better prepared me as a person for the future in situations I might encounter to deal with other people. A challenge that I have overcome in my life is earning and sustaining a job on a local farm. In 8th grade, I did not want to and was not looking for a job. Then, my grandfather told me about this local farm he visited and bought some crops from. He also mentioned that they were looking for some new farm hands and asked me if I wanted to apply. Never having a job before, I was interested in the new opportunity and thought of it as something to do over the summer to get out of the house. After meeting my soon to be boss, I started work and tried my best to complete the task and adapt to the summer heat that was consistently over 100 degrees. As I have gotten older, I continued to work at the farm and it has continued to be an opportunity that I have been very grateful for while in high school. To prepare for my future, I have also been taking dual credit classes to receive early college credits. This has offered me more of a challenge than traditional high school classes as well as boosting my highschool average. I believe that by taking these classes I will be better prepared for my college experience as well as not have to take general classes that everyone takes freshman year. Altogether, I am an introverted person that uses logic to make decisions. My life has given me many unique opportunities that will allow me to succeed in whatever my future holds.

These values that I hold have greatly come from my christian faith and through my church. I have learned the importance of having integrity through My family who is a big part of who I am as a person. This makes my family different from other families in that we do not have the same values other families do. This also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do. Although I am excluded from activities some other people my age do, I feel that my christian faith has given me the best chance to succeed and make smarter choices in life. Having integrity affects your life and the way you live in so many positive ways. One of the greatest benefits of integrity is the respect that you earn from others. People respect that you are Living your life with the values of integrity and will respect you as a person in return. I have seen this first hand in my life in the differences in the way I am treated compared to my peers through my actions that come from having integrity. An example of this is the trust I earn from the people around me. Teachers never question if I am telling them the truth as my character has earned the respect and trust of them. Classmates also treat me with respect that they do not show many others because of my integrity through my actions. The concept of integrity implies a wholeness, a comprehensive corpus of beliefs often referred to as a worldview. This concept of wholeness emphasizes honesty and authenticity, requiring that one act at all times in accordance with the individual's chosen worldview. In my community, I have clearly demonstrated these ethical principles and values through volunteering for many different organizations. For example, In my church I have been volunteering in the student ministry for many years. Even though I don't get paid, I take volunteering very seriously. Always making it a priority to be punctual and prepared to best pour in to the youth in our church. This allows me to be a positive role model in these kids' lives by Teaching them about Jesus and the bible through volunteering. Showing integrity while I volunteer is very important as I lead by example in my actions. This is one of the most impactful things I can do in my life for the future as I am positively Impacting the younger generations through my actions. In all, Integrity relates to compliance to the rules as well as to social expectations, with morality as well as ethics, and with actions as well as attitude. Electronic signals are said to have integrity when there is no corruption of information between one domain and another, such as from a disk drive to a computer display. Such integrity is a fundamental principle of information assurance. Corrupted information is untrustworthy, yet uncorrupted information is of value. By learning these values early in life, it has given me many unique opportunities that will allow me to succeed in whatever my future holds.

In many ways, we rely on each other as a community to thrive. This is why an important part of everyone's life should be giving back to your community. As time is our most valuable asset, finding a cause that is bigger than yourself is an incredible experience. Volunteering in organizations such as in churches or in homeless shelters is one of the best ways to donate your time to your community. It is obvious from the decline in volunteering that many people don't realize the effect of helping people in their times of need. Everyone must do their part as more volunteers are needed in vital organizations all across America. One organization in particular that needs volunteers are churches. By volunteering at my local church, I have seen first hand how a lack of volunteers affects the function of a church. In the kids ministry where I serve, help is needed every week to take care of children while their parents go to the main service. Kids ministries also help children learn about God in a way they can understand. Without a kids ministry, parents would be much less likely to go to church because of the constant attention needed to keep a child occupied and quiet during the adult service to not disturb others. Other church members may choose to leave due to children disrupting the peaceful and quiet environment. Even with the clear importance of the kids ministry, there are very few new volunteers that come and offer to help serve in their church. This is not only a problem in my local church. According to the Statica Research Department, only 25% of Americans volunteer. Some of the reasons people give for not volunteering are a lack of free time and that they have not been personally asked by someone to volunteer. In other organizations, the consequences of not having enough volunteers would lead to issues such as animals in a pound having to get put down or people that need food going hungry at a homeless shelter. Sadly, this mess is only getting worse. According to a Gallup Poll, volunteering has been in decline by eight percent over the last four years. The lack of volunteers can also create added stress on the people who are volunteering. A way this can happen is when organizations ask the volunteers already working to volunteer more often. As the world continues to grow, it seems as if schedules are getting busier by the moment. Many people can get swept up in this fast paced world as they try to stay afloat, however, I have found that volunteering can be just as fun. Getting to help others in my community brings me joy by seeing the difference it makes in their lives and how appreciative they are. Volunteering in a single organization can have a bigger impact than anyone realizes. There are many ways local churches benefit the community and help people that are not even involved in the church. For instance, churches donate time and money to many other organizations that help our community. Center of Hope is an organization that helps feed the homeless in our community. Without it, many people that have fallen on hard times would go without food for the day. Many churches donate money and send volunteers to help the Center of Hope so they can continue to function. Just this summer, my church sent over 500 food items to the Center of Hope through a vacation bible school held by the kids ministry.

My name is Connor Phillips. I am 17 years old and attend Peaster high school. After high school I plan to attend a four year college and graduate with an engineering degree. I chose this degree because of my advanced abilities at mathematics. I also love to build and design things. I think the combination of these two things will help me to succeed in the engineering program as well as enjoy the jobs offered in these fields. I live in a christian family and our faith is very important to us. This makes my family different from other families in that we do not have the same problems other families do. This also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do. In 8th grade, my grandfather told me about this local farm he visited and bought some crops from. He also mentioned that they were looking for some new farm hands and asked me if I wanted to apply. Never having a job before, I was interested in the new opportunity. Throughout high school, I have benefited from the many things that I have learned that I have been very grateful for while in high school.

This has offered me more of a challenge than traditional high school classes as well as boosting my highschool average. I believe that by taking these classes I will be better prepared for college in the coming years. My family is a big part of who I am as a person. I live in a christian family and our faith is very important to us. This makes my family different from other families in that we do not have the same values other families do. This also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do. Although I am excluded from activities some other people my age do, I feel that my christian faith has given me the best chance to succeed and make smarter choices in life. Another thing that makes my family different from others is that I have two adopted siblings. This has shown me that not everyone has the same opportunities in life as I have.

This also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do. This also means that my siblings and I have more restrictions on what we are allowed to do.
