I'm Connor Koch, a 17 year old Senior, who is aspiring to attain an Undergraduate degree in Biology and Doctorate in Orthodontia. While that goal may seem difficult, I feel as if I'm the utmost prepared for this challenge. I've rebounded from a daunting mental health battle in 2018 and learned to believe in myself through multiple life changing experiences. Specifically, I would like to share a story on how my Grandmother inspired me to not shy away from challenges and find confidence. By 2019, my mental health woes had taken a toll on me. My Grandma Janet took notice to that, and knew she needed to give me a boost. She put forth such a strong set of words, that have resonated with me to this day: “Once you realize that you can accomplish monumental things, the sky is the limit for what you can achieve, Grandson.” After hearing that statement, I was sparked to challenge myself like never before. My period of growth was truly highlighted by the creation of my own, online, sports card store. A big inspiration in this was my father. He has dabbled as an entrepreneur for a while now. After observing his techniques and the sports card market, I quickly began racking up sales. Within the first year, I had ten-thousand dollars in sales and have now tripled that number. Not only did I make my father proud, but I was more importantly fulfilled with self belief like never before. With a period of self growth behind me and plenty more to come, I can’t wait to see what the limitless sky has in store for me.
