My life goals are to make a difference in the world while staying true to my morals and ethics. I plan to attend the University of Michigan in the fall of 2026 and study Economics and Finance. I am passionate about learning, exercise and bettering myself through discipline and having a huge amount of grit. I would be a great candidate for a scholarship, as I would love to help my parents pay for my education and go into as little debt as possible.

I’ve always been someone who likes to challenge myself, both academically and outside the classroom. Throughout high school, I’ve taken the most advanced classes available to me because I genuinely enjoy learning and pushing my limits. Math has always been one of my strongest interests, which is why I worked hard to reach college-level calculus as a junior in high school—something very few students at my school have ever done. Being in that class pushed me to solve complex problems, and stay disciplined with my work. It showed me that I enjoy tackling difficult material and that I’m capable of succeeding in demanding environments.
Outside of academics, rowing has played a huge role in shaping who I am. I’m the captain of my school’s crew team, and it’s an experience that has taught me a lot about leadership, responsibility, and perseverance. Rowing is a sport that demands both physical endurance and mental toughness. As the fastest rower on our team, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about individual performance—it’s about helping the entire boat move together and making sure everyone is motivated to give their best. Being captain means setting the tone at practice, supporting teammates when things get tough, and helping build a strong team culture. Those lessons in teamwork and discipline are things I carry with me in every part of my life.
Looking ahead, I will attend the University of Michigan and major in Economics. I’m excited about the opportunity to study a field that connects math, strategy, and real-world decision-making. In college, I will strive to get involved in a business fraternity and finance clubs where I can learn more about markets, investing, and financial strategy while also meeting other students with similar interests.
My long-term goal is to work in investment banking. I’m drawn to the fast-paced environment and the challenge of analyzing companies, understanding markets, and helping businesses make important financial decisions. I know it’s a competitive field, but I’m motivated by that challenge. The work ethic I’ve built through rigorous academics and competitive rowing has prepared me to handle demanding situations while I keep pushing myself to improve.
Overall, I see my future as a continuation of what I’ve already started—working hard, taking on difficult challenges, and constantly trying to grow both as a student and as a leader.
