I have pushed myself to be the best student-athlete-citizen I could possibly be.Through hard work and persistence I have earned a 4.12 high school GPA and a place in the National Honor Society.I was a 4 year member and 2 year Captain of the boys Varsity soccer team. That position helped me step outside my comfort zone whenever I had to advocate for my team or a team member. It gave me a sense of purpose knowing that I was not only able to help others with soccer but to able to help a teammate navigate a conflict. This gave me the confidence to take on the biggest challenge of my high school career. In my senior year I was supposed to do a senior internship in an area of business since that is the field I plan to go in to.Unfortunately, the local companies that had participated in the past had pulled out of the program due to post Covid challenges. A teacher approached me one day last Winter and said that a local Foundation that provides week long vacations for chronically or seriously ill kids and their families had reached out to the school because they were in danger financially of not being able to complete their mission this year. She knew I was interested in business and asked if I had any ideas for how we could raise money for them? I had a lot of ideas but to make a long story short I ended up starting a NPO which planned and executed a 5k road race which was able to raise over $7,000 for the Dream Day Foundation! It is the most rewarding thing I have ever done and it’s my hope that I can bring my motivation and civic mindedness to my college experience.
