Making a difference by being the difference. Normal in this society is staying plugged into your devices, to your subscriptions, consume everything you can that you enjoy, if its too uncomfortable or not easy-forge it. Those who invested into me and my character took time, effort, and poured their wisdom into me to encourage me to be a better person.
My personal goal is to not be normal, but to be weird, to be different. This school year has been challenging to me on an academic, social, mental, and spiritual level. But despite all the craziness has been thrown my way-I can be a help and encouragement to others by giving. Not just give financially with small amount I can to help a friend with extra change for coffee, but give of time and attention to conversations, to hear them out and understand what’s going on in their world. The more I listen to other’s problems the more I realize and remember again and again-I am not alone, yes we all got different levels of problems but we all are hurting or struggling to be better. Isolation is NOT the solution, but rather community is the healthy pathway to not only bettering yourself, but helping others.
It is not about our own needs, this life is all about serving and giving others. Ive never seen any extremely selfish person happy, but I have seen and can testify that having a lifestyle of giving is what can help us catch those happy moments. We are all on a journey, and we all need help and encouragement, but it takes courage to step out and be the difference!
