Hi. My name is Tia Furbush. I am a current freshman at Howard University. I am a strong advocate for change and always love helping others in need. I am majoring in biology to get to my future goal of being an anesthesiologist assistant also known as AA. I want to be in the field of medicine because I want to make a change and have others feel safe about going to the doctors, checkups, etc. Even though the road to my goal might be difficult, my determination and confidence will give me strength, and realize all my hard work is what I had fallen in love with since the beginning.
Besides education, I love sports, food, traveling, learning new things, and a bunch more. I just love being able to live my life how I should without letting anyone else get in the way of it.

Bold Dream Big Scholarship
I know this sounds like the perfect lifestyle. Lavish Lamborghinis, Ferraris, 30 million dollar homes, hundreds and thousands of dollars in the bank account, five-star resorts, going out all the time, you name it. For me, this is not my dream.
While I was little, however, that was all I dreamt about for my dream life. All that I would see as a so-called dream would be having endless money and all these materialistic things. It was not until I read "The High Price of Materialism" by Tim Kasser that I realized that was not what I just wanted my life to be. As I grew, I started to go after my ambitions and things that made me truly happy, not just money or material things. I want my family to live in great health for a very long time, fulfill a successful career in medicine, start a family if possible, live in a nice home, help and give back to others in need, travel occasionally, and just enjoy the beautiful world before my time is up.
It is very easy to get sucked into what society and social media depict, so we tend to forget our true desires and dreams. The road to getting where you want to be maybe hard, but I know that hard work is very rewarding, so I will continue to believe in myself to achieve my dream life, inspiring others along the way to live the life that they want. Not what society wants them to be.
