Hello, My name is Cindy I am currently in my 2nd semester of dental hygiene school, I am struggling to pay for bills currently since I don't work due to being a full time student. Ever since I graduated high school I knew I wanted to be a dental hygienist and although college was a challenge due to not receiving any financial aid, I put myself through my 2 years of prerequisite working 2 jobs & managing school. My Future looks amazing as a dental hygienist I hope to bring more knowledge about the importance of dental health to communities, being a Latina woman it is important to me to bring knowledge to my own community because there is a huge lack of oral health education. I plan to keep on budgeting as best as I can and keep my focus in school, I am also looking into picking up Uber eat jobs when I have free time.

I am passionate about receiving my education because I am the first in my moms side of the family to attend college and because I want to be able to help my community through educating them on their dental health. I am currently in the Dental Hygiene program.

Hello my name is Cindy I am 26 years old. I immigrated to the U.S when I was 9, when I first came to the U.S I became very interested in science, I always did well in science classes throughout school. I graduated High School in 2013 and I decided then I wanted to be a Dental Hygienist. I had no idea how to even enrolled in college since no one in my family had ever gone. I started looking for help through my counselors and teachers. Starting college was a bit challenging due to the fact that I didn't qualify for financial aid, I had to work full time and do part time school. I had many challenges both in school and with families, I wanted to give up many times but I kept pushing. I finished my A.S degree in 2019 and have been waiting to get into a dental hygiene program since. This year by the grace of God I got accepted into a program and will be starting April 4th 2022. I plan to successfully finish this program and open up a dental clinic. I also plan to use my skills to do charity work around my neighborhood and back in my native country. I would also like to educate latinos on the importance on dental hygiene.
