My academic or professional plans after graduation are: to become a mechanic, and eventually make my own business as a mechanic. I want to be a mechanic because I have always had an interest in cars. Whether it's a jeep, a mustang, a low-rider, a Honda, or even a Toyota. I have been interested in cars since I could even spell the word car. I believe your profession chooses you. You don't choose our profession. I say this because everyone has their different interests, and I found mine because of the way it shaped around my life. For example, I've had plenty of car engines blow up on me. My dad used to buy and flip cars. Most of the time they didn't drive smoothly, or at all. I have already been through five cars because of that. I do believe that cars will always be in my life, as they already have been so far. No matter what I've done in my life, I've always needed a car at some point. Whether it ran well or not. Not everything in life is going to be easy, which is why I want to challenge myself to become an automotive mechanic. I know there are plenty of mechanics out there, but I want to be the different one. The affordable, and trustworthy one. I don't want to let anyone down like I was let down or all of those years. My high school experience helped me move into the directions of my dreams because; it helped me truly become the person I am today. High school was easily the four most important years of my life. Everything in high school had shaped me to be very different from who I was when I first walked into my years. One of the electives I took was engineering. In engineering, it had more coding than anything else, but it still made me realize I love cars. I would work on projects involving cars, and how I would make my own business when I was younger. The electives were always around cars, and I even bought some expensive tool sets just to work on cars with my dad. It helped me move towards going to a trade school that I love, even if it's out of state. I don't think I would've went to college if I didn't have all of the wonderful teachers I did. If I didn't have everyone who influenced me during that, or the resources I needed during it I easily wouldn't have ever followed my dreams.
    Tim Williams Automotive Student Scholarship
I am applying for this scholarship because I thought it might help me further my education with funds I am in need of for College. It would help me on my journey to get to college while being low income. I want to be an auto mechanic because it's always been a dream of mine. When I had seen my dad with low-riders, and trucks that had twenty inch rims on them it made me want to fix cars, or trucks just like that. It made me realize the true passion I had for mechanics. My dad used to buy and flip cars, he wasn't the best at it. He blew up four of my car's engines actually, and it made me want to learn how to fix cars so I wouldn't have to deal with a busted or a broken down car again. Instead of asking for normal stuff a girl would, I asked for ratchets, and sockets, along with Allen wrenches. It's always been a passion of mine. I believe that your profession chooses you, not the other way around. Cars have always been my go to thing because of the hung impact it has played in my life. Whether is was to a job, to a family trip, on the way to visit college, to get a license, or many other adventures. I have never been without a car in my life. Even if they didn't always work very well, I fixed them and taught myself how to drive. Which is not an easy feat. I might only be eighteen, but I've already gone through five cars because of their engine issues, and I've fixed plenty of cars as well. I believe I will make an impact in the future because I will make sure to leave a mark. Instead of every single mechanic in my family blowing up a car, I will learn how to fix them and eventually create a business for myself. I know it's possible, and I think I could be one of the reliable people you have as a friend, or coworker who you can trust to take care of your car for you. No more unnecessary fees, and no more lies coming with the unfortunate effects of bad people. I would be a local business everyone can trust with their cars, and be the person they know they can rely on.
