Greetings I would say the typical women which would be my
Mother, Grandmother an Aunts but I would say my Ms. Barbara Jones. This woman worked with my mother/father at Entergy and has been there every step of the way. Ms. Barbara took me in prayed, counseled and even disciplined me when needed. She was there when my father her coworker wasn’t, she made sure I had something hot eat, made it to church and explained to me that mom was dozing all she could for me. This woman shows in her everyday life that hard work pays off being she has been with Entergy for thirty years and has finally become a supervisor. Her faith in God is paramount and comes first in all she does and say. She has been the rock for
my mother when she had to work late or just needed a mental break. I come from a line of strong women and it is because of her that I will graduate from college and become an up standing citizen but most importantly if or when I have children to never leave them and always do right because although she is a women she stepped in to be the other parent I wanted and needed. Thanks
Raymond Reggie Scholarship
My name is Christopher Michael Wesley, I am the oldest child of two an I come from a single parent home, but this is not the reason to choose me. I am a confident, respectful, loyal and humble person who is simple trying to succeed in life and make myself and mother even more proud. I am a Senior who attends Carroll High School in Monroe, Louisiana. I am a member of the National High School Beta Club, member of the CHS Marching Sound Machine Band where I play the Tuba, a cadet for three (3) years with the Air Force JROTC and an honor roll student. Upon graduating high school, I will be attending Southern University in the fall and plan on auditioning for the band. My field of study will be Business Administration as I would like to be a Business Owner or a part of the management team one day. The reason for me choosing the field is due to the failing economy and the lack and respect most businesses have for their employees. I would like to provide a secure, stable and dependable business that employees desire to be a part of. Most companies lack affordable insurance plans, child care, sick leave etc… and I want to try to make a difference by laying out a realistic plan. I always tell my mom that I want to own a indoor video/arcade place where people parents can bring their kids for leisure time and enjoy but as I get older and the real world is fatally approaching I’m thinking beyond that. I look at the fact that my moms works for a state agency but it barely covers the day to day but yet she stills makes it happen with no public assistance to ensure I succeed at my dreams. That’s why it’s important to have that work foundation. Do you know that most parents are missing from parent teacher conferences, their child’s events due to working a nine to five that doesn’t cover the monthly bills. This is why I want to provide that secure place by first educating myself, volunteering in work places and community to actually have an insight as to the needs, studying businesses, looking at the market to determine what the demand. Also, taking a personal look at family members and friends situation because remember the study starts with looking at you own personal situation. I know I have a long road ahead of me and other people are working hard at what I would like to do but I’m always told you can’t make things happen if you don’t try, and for this reason I’m sharing my future goals and thoughts with you on hopes of getting this much needed scholarship to bring me one step closer to my dreams. Thank you taking the time to read and Bless you!
Your future
