My grandfather died just a few weeks ago and I am still processing it. I live at school so I haven't been able to go back yet for a funeral or to see my family. It is hard trying to deal with a family death when you are isolated from the family. This experience has taught me how to focus on school and work, while also dealing with emotional troubles at the same time. I can't let his death cause me to lose my job or cause my school grades to drop. But at the same time I am only putting off the inevitable. My grandfather always believed in me and would tell everyone he knows about how his grandson is an engineer, of how smart I am. He would tell me of all the new "sciency" things people on the news are talking about, and how excited he was that I would be doing that one day. So that is what is pushing me to fight. Because if I stop and fail now I wouldn't just be failing myself but him as well. I need to push forward and succeed in my work, succeed in my school, and get my degree.
