      Arin Kel Memorial Scholarship
If I had to start a business with my sister N'yalah, I would do a dance and video gaming lounge that combined our interests. This would bring together her love for dancing with my love for gaming. We would create a place where people can gather, relax, and express themselves. On one side of the lounge, there would be a gaming area with the latest game systems and a collection of games. This space would be for the gamers, where they could just play together and compete, all while listening to music. When you walk in, the lounge will be inviting, with comfortable seating, dimmed lighting, and large screens that will show the multiplayer games and competitive gaming tournaments for that week. N'yalah had an infectious personality that would undoubtedly encourage and convince the customers to participate in the different gaming experiences, even with the dance challenges inspired by her favorite TikTok and Dubsmash videos. On the opposite side, the lounge would feature a dance studio where individuals of all skill levels could take classes or simply enjoy freestyle dancing. N'yalah was always dancing, especially in her TikTok and Dubsmash videos; this side of the lounge would reflect her energy and spirit. The studio area would be designed with mirrors and a sound system to ensure a worthwhile experience. Different styles of dancing would be offered, and perhaps even workshops with a few rotating dance instructors. This initiative will allow the customers to explore techniques and choreography that are interesting to them. We can also have specific theme days such as Retro Game Night or Dance-Offs in order to build camaraderie with the customers as well as give them the feeling of having a safe community. This lounge will genuinely be a vibrant atmosphere in which new friendships can be made, a good hangout area for people to come and be themselves. This dance and video game lounge would not only be a business but also a way to celebrate creativity, joy, and connection. This tribute will capture N'yalah’s bright, goofy, laughter-filled personality and eternalize it. While also providing our customers a space to feel free, express themselves, and socialize. In this business, I would try to honor her memory while creating an atmosphere of inclusivity, fun, and positive energy. An enterprise that I believe she would wholeheartedly support and enjoy.
      Achieve Potential Scholarship
Hello, My name is Christopher Lightfoot. Most people call me Chris for short. I am an 18-year old Senior at Crowley High School. I currently have a 3.9/4.0 Grade point average with 32 credits. I am an intelligent laid back quiet young man that loves family, playing my game and listening music. I am the oldest son of my mother's children. I have a younger brother and older sister who passed back in May of 2018. It has always been my goal to graduate from high school in the top of my class and go to college. I have always wanted to attend University of North Texas like my uncles did. I am in the middle of finding a major right now so as now I'm undecided with picking a major. I love helping my mother with things around the house. I do a lot of assembling and putting things together. It is important for me to win the scholarship money to attend college, graduate and make some thing of myself. I would become very successful if given the opportunity. I've applied at plenty of college universities and researched tuition, meal plans, books, dorms and everything that comes with going to college. Its very expensive and needed. If its given to me i would be so grateful for the chance to go to the college of my dreams. Scholarship would be used to fund my education and in return, I'll be making good grades. College at University of North Texas in Denton has always been a dream of mines since I could remember. Life on college campus was something my parents was able to do and it was stolen from my sister. Its also a dream I would like to give my mother. I have plenty of help from my support system. Also while attending college if given the chance to win the scholarship, I'm going to make sure i use all available resources that the college offers as well be doing work study. It has always been told to me if you want something out of life, you must pray, put your mind on it, focus and go after it. Dreams aren't going to come to you. Dreams are just dreams but its up to me to turn them into something more. Turning dreams into reality and go after them to accomplish my goals. Striving for Excellence and becoming a successful young individual. I will push myself to achieve goals that I have set for myself.
