Some skills that I possess that will help me enter the automotive industry include my hard work and my dedication. I am always willing to jump right into something and am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I always love to challenge myself and learn new things. The automotive field is something I wish to pursue because I have always been around cars and have a passion for them. I love anything to do with them especially working on them. I am always eager to help my family and friends with their cars whenever they need something done. I have been taking automotive-related classes for the past 2 years and this year I was given the privilege to work the district vehicles including the busses. My teachers are always willing to give me different things I can work on or need to be fixed. They are always shocked by my willingness to start a project or work on something. Another good trait I have is I like helping the other kids whenever they are having trouble with something or just need an extra hand. I am always for working with others and being able to do a job without really having to communicate with each other because we are able to tell what the other is doing or what they need. I also plan to enter the welding industry because it's something that always seem cool to me. I see some of the things that can be made with the differnt techniques and types of welding and I am always amazed. It also catches me by suprise how much you can see welding in your everyday life. I am currently enrolled in two welding classes at my school and both of my teachers are very proud of my progress and how I am doing. I am always looking to improve my welding skills and learn new techniques. I am constatly practing welding and just messing around and trying to learn from my mistakes and seeing what I can pick up. I think learning to weld will help me in the automotive industry because once I am done with school I am planning to open my own shop where I would do everything from custimizatoin and rebuilding engies to your everyday repairs and maitnence. My plan is to do all the fabrication and metal work in house so I have better control of the product and quality. This way I am able to gurantee to my customers they are getting quick and quality fixes or customization and a fair price.

I was inspired to pursue a career in the automotive industry because cars are something I have always grown up around. I come from a long line of mechanics. My dad worked on cars for roughly 20 years and my grandpa worked on tanks in the army, after he retired from the armed forces he continued to work on cars. So working on anything with an engine was something that came by me honestly and something I was always surrounded by. Being around them so often has helped me develop a deep passion for them and allows me to build a certain connection with them that I have a hard time expressing to others. I am always trying to get my hands dirty and work on things no matter the project. I just recently took an automotive course at my high school and passed with flying colors. I am also currently enrolled in a class this year where I get to work on the district vehicles including the busses. I am also trying to work on anything automotive-related outside of school whenever I can. I am always offering to my family or friends if they need help with anything on their cars or lawnmowers and to do things like change their oil or replace their brakes. After I graduate high school I am planning to attend WyoTech in Larmine this summer with my first day being July 1st. At WyoTech I am planning to become a certified technician and take a high-performance engine and automotive service management class as well. With WyoTech I will be able to achieve several different sought-after or must-have certifications in a timely and cost-effective way at one of the most highly rated automotive schools in the nation. Once I graduate from WyoTech I also plan to go to a welding school to become a certified welder. After I am finished with schooling I aim to open a shop of my own. With this shop, I am going to provide automotive repair but also customization with in-house fabrication for things like roll cages or piping. My ultimate goal with my shop is to try to provide quality repairs or customization at a fair cost. Something I pride myself upon is being open with everyone around about what is going on and that is something I wish to carry into my business model by being very clear with the customer what is happening with their car and what we are currently doing and making sure they understand the basis for why we are going down the path we are.

I come from a long line of mechanics. My father was a mechanic for 16 years along with my Grandfather being a mechanic for 40 years working on both tanks in the army and cars after he retired. Cars have been something that I have always been around and have had a passion for. I am always trying to get my hands on them and help my family with their cars. I am currently taking multiple automotive classes at my high school. I plan to attend WyoTech this summer to become a certified mechanic and open my own shop.
