My sister is a first generation student at Auburn University and I plan to follow her path at Mississippi State. Now we already have an idea of how much money it requires to get a sophisticated education like this. It’s very important that I get all the help I can get so I can make this easier for my parents who have worked so hard to get me where I am right now. I do realize that tuition in college isn’t just your classes since it also takes into account all of the materials you need for them as well. I plan on majoring in Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State since it’s a field I’ve dreamed of being in since I was a child. I want to use what I learned from my education to change the field in general. I want to make a big change in what I’m studying, but I’ll need all the help I can get. I’ve cultivated my ideas and thinking during High School and I plan on making them some special when I am finished with college. My goal isn’t just to simply graduate with a degree in aerospace engineering. I plan on making advancements to the field that not only benefit my family, but make new changes in the field with a world that is always changing. I can only do this if I can work around the financial challenges that I am facing when being admitted to Mississippi State University. My family has always been low income, but we have always made it a priority to put all expenses towards education over things we have wanted. I may have not gotten the newest things that are trending among high schoolers, but my parents have always let me know that any expense for school has to be paid. I plan to apply this same thinking when I get into college and make paying everything related to my studies my priority. Taking all of this into consideration, my goal is to graduate with my degree with the least amount of debt possible. This way, I can invest all I can into my future and let my parents live a life in which they don’t have to worry about money. I want to aid them like they have done for my educational expenses up until now. I would also be able to make the changes in the aerospace field that I’ve been wanting to make since a very young age.
