Bio

I am a self-driven individual who enjoys working with my hands and solving problems. From a young age, I was drawn to building and understanding how things work. I could complete a 3,000-piece LEGO set in just a few hours, not just because I enjoyed the challenge, but because I was naturally curious about how each piece fit together to create something functional and complete. That same curiosity continues to guide me today. I value teamwork and leadership, which I developed through over 10 years of playing competitive travel baseball. Being part of a team taught me discipline, communication, and accountability. Now, as a coach for that same travel team, I have the opportunity to give back by mentoring younger players, helping them grow both on and off the field. Coaching has strengthened my leadership skills and reinforced the importance of supporting others to achieve a common goal. I have chosen to pursue a career as an electrician because it combines my passion for hands-on work with my desire to make a meaningful impact. Electricity is essential to everyday life, and without it, homes, businesses, and entire communities cannot function. As an electrician, I will play a critical role in ensuring that people have safe and reliable access to this vital resource. I am confident that this career path will be both challenging and fulfilling. I take pride in knowing that the work I do will directly improve people’s daily lives. With my strong work ethic, curiosity, and commitment to helping others, I am motivated to succeed and make a positive difference in my community.

Living with chronic migraines while pursuing a technical field like becoming an electrician presents unique challenges that require both physical and mental resilience. Migraines are not just headaches—they can be debilitating, causing intense pain, sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, and difficulty concentrating. When a migraine occurs, it can make it nearly impossible to function at full capacity, sometimes requiring me to rest for extended periods or seek medical care. These episodes can be unpredictable, which adds another layer of difficulty when trying to stay consistent in a demanding training program. The electrical field is hands-on, detail-oriented, and often physically demanding. It requires strong focus, precision, and the ability to work safely in environments where attention to detail is critical. Even a small mistake can have serious consequences. Balancing this level of responsibility while managing a condition like migraines can be especially challenging on days when symptoms arise unexpectedly. In addition, environmental factors such as bright lighting, loud noises, and physical strain can trigger or worsen migraines, making it essential for me to stay aware of my health and manage these conditions carefully. Technical training programs and job sites also operate on strict schedules and deadlines. Missing time due to a migraine or attempting to push through symptoms can impact both my learning and performance. Despite these challenges, I have developed strong coping strategies. I actively work to identify triggers, maintain a consistent routine, follow preventative treatments, and stay organized so I can continue progressing toward my goals. These habits have strengthened my discipline and ability to adapt under pressure. Receiving a scholarship would have a significant impact on my ability to succeed. I am committed to funding the majority of my education on my own, and the financial pressure associated with tuition and related expenses can be a major source of stress. Stress is a known trigger for my migraines, and the added burden of debt increases the likelihood and severity of episodes. Financial relief through a scholarship would not only support my education but also improve my overall health by reducing one of my primary migraine triggers. With less financial stress, I would be able to focus more fully on my training, maintain better control over my condition, and continue building the skills needed for a successful career. Pursuing a technical field while managing migraines has taught me resilience, determination, and perseverance. These challenges have shaped me into someone who is prepared to overcome obstacles and stay committed to my goals. With the support of a scholarship, I am confident I can continue moving forward and succeed in both my education and future career.

My family has been deeply impacted by cancer, and that experience has shaped who I am and how I view my future. In 2025, I lost my grandfather to lung cancer. This was not his first battle—he had previously fought and overcome bladder cancer in 2016 and had been in remission for several years. We truly believed he had beaten it. However, what initially seemed like a lingering cough, thought to be long COVID, turned into something much more serious. After five months with no improvement, a chest X-ray revealed lung cancer. He was diagnosed in November 2024, and just a few short months later, in January 2025, he passed away. His loss hit me incredibly hard because he was not just my grandfather—he was my best friend. We spent a lot of time together, talking, learning, and supporting each other. He played a major role in shaping my values and outlook on life. Watching him go through this experience showed me how fragile and precious life truly is. It also reminded me how important it is to not take time with loved ones for granted and to make the most of every moment. My grandfather always believed in hard work and staying true to your passions. He taught me that success does not only come from a traditional four-year college path, but from dedication, effort, and doing something you truly care about. He encouraged me to work with my hands, to be curious, and to take pride in what I do. He supported my decision to pursue a trade and always reminded me that there are many paths to success. That belief has stayed with me and continues to motivate me every day as I work toward my goals. This experience has also strengthened my desire to help others. After my grandfather passed, my grandmother faced challenges managing repairs in her home and struggled to find someone reliable and available. Seeing that firsthand made me realize how important it is to be someone people can depend on, especially during difficult times. I want to build a career where I can make a difference in people’s everyday lives by being reliable, dependable, and skilled, while also following my passion and interests. Losing my grandfather was one of the most difficult experiences I have faced, but it taught me valuable lessons about resilience, purpose, and the importance of pursuing what matters most. His strength, encouragement, and belief in me continue to guide me, and I am determined to honor his legacy by working hard, following my passions, and making a positive impact on others.

I am pursuing a career in the electrical trade at Lincoln Tech because I want to make a meaningful and lasting impact on people’s lives. To me, this career is more than just a job—it is an opportunity to provide safety, reliability, and peace of mind to families in my community. My interest in this field began when I saw my grandmother struggle to find a trustworthy electrician to fix critical issues in her home. That experience showed me how essential skilled tradespeople are and inspired me to become someone others can depend on in times of need. I have developed strong problem-solving and leadership skills through my experience as a baseball coach. Coaching has taught me how to guide others through challenges, build confidence, and stay calm under pressure. Whether I am helping a player recover after a mistake or adjusting strategies during a difficult game, I am always focused on finding solutions and supporting others. I plan to bring that same mindset into my career by not only solving technical problems but also building trust and positive relationships with the people I serve. My desire to make a difference extends beyond my career and into my community. I volunteer annually for the Brady’s Voice golf tournament fundraiser, an organization dedicated to preventing youth suicide and raising awareness about mental health. This cause is deeply personal to me. Brady and his family are close family friends, and two years ago, my own family faced a mental health crisis when my sister struggled significantly. Because of the education and awareness provided by Brady’s Voice, we were able to recognize warning signs that we may not have otherwise understood. At one point, my sister had been planning to take her own life, and that knowledge made a life-saving difference. This experience changed me and shaped the way I view my role in the world. I realized that making a positive influence is not always about large gestures—it is often about being informed, aware, and willing to step in when it matters most. I am committed to continuing my volunteer work and helping spread awareness so that more families can recognize the signs and support those in need. By sharing knowledge and encouraging open conversations about mental health, I hope to help create a community where people feel seen, supported, and safe. I am seeking financial assistance because I am determined to fund my education independently and build a future where I can contribute meaningfully to society. Trade school is a necessary step toward achieving my goals, but it also presents a financial challenge. This scholarship would allow me to stay focused on my training and continue working toward making a positive impact through both my career and community involvement. Through my work as an electrician and my commitment to mental health awareness, I plan to make a difference by helping others feel safe, supported, and valued. I believe that even small actions, when done with purpose and consistency, can create lasting change.
Scott A. Ross Memorial Automotive Scholarship
I am pursuing a career in the automotive field because it combines my passion for hands-on work, problem-solving, and my growing knowledge of electrical systems. Today’s vehicles rely heavily on advanced electrical components, from diagnostics and sensors to safety and performance systems. This complexity excites me because it allows me to use both critical thinking and technical skills to diagnose and fix real-world problems. I have always been curious about how things work, and the automotive field gives me the opportunity to turn that curiosity into a career that is both practical and impactful. It seems that every new car model has a new gaget or gizmo. Understanding how they work and more importantly how to fix them will be an essential to ensure that car designers can keep dreaming up new ideas . I am currently enrolled at Lincoln Tech, where I am actively working toward my career goals. Through my coursework, I am gaining a strong foundation in electrical systems while also learning how those systems apply to modern vehicles. I have been speaking with my instructors, researching job opportunities, and learning what skills are needed to succeed in the industry. My plan is to continue building hands-on experience and technical knowledge so I can pursue a career that blends electrical expertise with automotive repair. This combination will allow me to grow in a field that is constantly evolving with new technology. Throughout my journey, I have faced challenges that have strengthened my determination and resilience. One of the most significant challenges has been managing chronic migraines. When they occur, they can be debilitating, sometimes requiring me to rest for extended periods or even seek emergency care. Despite this, I have learned how to manage my condition by identifying triggers, improving my diet, and following preventative treatment plans. This has required discipline, consistency, and a strong mindset. Overcoming this challenge has taught me how to adapt, stay focused, and push forward even when things are difficult. It has strengthened my work ethic and shown me the importance of perseverance. I am committed to my goals and take pride in continuing to move forward despite obstacles. With my passion for the automotive field, my developing technical skills, and my determination to overcome challenges, I am confident that I will succeed. I am motivated to build a career where I can solve problems, help others, and continue learning every day.
