DAC Rugby Scholarship
I have currently been playing rugby for 2 years now I with Boynton beach rugby, and my current position is wing. I have played in many competitive matches with not just my own teammates but with other well experienced players as well. Playing rugby has influenced my character development by helping me become a stronger person and push my self throughout hardships that I may be facing on or off the field and has taught me to keep going when things get difficult. Rugby is a very interactive and communicative sport and because of it I have been able to improve basic soft skills such as leadership, perseverance, and communication which is needed in order not only succeed in this sport but for my future career in the medical field. Playing rugby has also helped me develop on a personal level in many ways by teaching me to stay committed to things that I am passionate about, and has encouraged me to not limit myself in certain aspects of life. Rugby has encouraged me to keep going not only as a player but as an individual overall. This sport has open my eyes to see that I can do anything I set my mind to. Before I played rugby I wasn’t really open to playing sports but seeing the culture of rugby and the impact that it has on the lives of others as well as on my life made me realize that this is something that I need in my life. Rugby has been a positive outlet for me and makes me have a sense of belonging. When I started my freshman year of high-school I always wanted to be apart of something impactful, and meaningful. When I found rugby I was very fond of how big the rugby community is and how this sport has made me a more social person, how in every match that I have played I meet more people along the way. I have gained so many life lessons and positive relationships due to this sport. The growth that I have experienced through playing this sport is immensely rewarding, and will always stick with me through life. Rugby has help me unlock abilities that I didn’t see in my self beforehand, without rugby I wouldn’t be the person I am today, I wouldn’t be as confident and passionate in my aspirations as I am today. Rugby has taught me that with hard work and dedication improvement and success is possible.
