After I graduate from Highschool I plan to attend a 4-year college, pursuing either Business or political science to help set myself up to go to law school potentially. I aspire to be a lawyer. I want to stay somewhat local and go to college in-state or within a few states away to stay somewhat close to family and friends. In college, I will also potentially sign up for ROTC. If I don’t do ROTC, I may go into the Air Force or Army reserves. My main goal in life is to build a strong career to provide for my family. I also want to build a strong connection to whatever community I end up living in to make it a better place. I will continue following my faith as I get older, try to build a closer connection with God, and study his word as I age. I also have stories that I potentially want to share with the world, whether that be through authorship, short-form films on YouTube, or games. I plan to work in Law to further myself, my family, my race, and my country. With a law degree, I plan to use that in tandem with a real estate license to help further my community with real estate law. This way, I can help the people in my community get affordable housing at a fair and just price. I want to help solve the current housing crisis that many Americans, including my own family, face. My own family struggled with finding affordable housing that could accommodate all our needs. I don't want others to face the same challenges that my family and I have had to deal with. I also want to continue my years of service to my community by working with my church to help with many community-related events like food drives, giving clothes to people in need, giving out dinners on thanksgiving morning, giving out school supplies to people who need them, and giving out toys to the people who can't afford them on Christmas. I'd also like to continue my Scouting career as an Eagle Scout. Now that I'm an Eagle and have aged out of scouting on my own, I'd like to come back as an adult leader and help the younger scouts with their goals in scouting. I hope that I one day may have children that I could introduce to scouting like my father did so they can learn all the same skills that my father and I have learned throughout all of our years of scouting. I’ve met some of my best friends through scouting and formed some of my best memories from all of my years of scouting and hope that my children can one day experience them too.

My life has always been similar to flying a kite. I’ve always gone wherever the wind took me and I let it guide me. Throughout my entire life, my family has forced me into things and made decisions on my behalf. Nothing I ever did was a decision of my own. I was always swayed and recommended to take a specific path. I always let it happen because I thought they knew what was best for me. However, they tried to push dreams that they had for me instead of asking me truly what I wanted to do with my own life. I’ve always been a people pleaser, especially when it came to my family. I always wanted to be their golden child. I always wanted to be someone they would be proud of and say I had accomplished something. Even since I was a little boy my parents have placed me in activities where I would learn various different skills for all types of things in the real world. My dad started me in Cub Scouts at a young age so I could learn outdoor skills and leadership. My mom put me in an organization called New Jersey Orators, where I honed in on my public speaking and writing skills. Both of my parents put me in swimming lessons at a very young age so I could become a strong swimmer which has helped me today as a captain of my school's swim team and a lifeguard at my local community center's pool. While all of these activities were great, I wonder if I excelled in them because I wanted to do them or if I did them to make my parents happy. Both of my parents have high hopes for me. My father dreamed of me becoming an army officer and surpassing him in rank in the US Army. My mother dreamed for me to become a medical professional in order to support my future family. I struggled to find what I wanted to do, and how I wanted to live the rest of my life. After living my life to please others for so long, I forgot what I could do to please my own needs. This led to a really difficult time in my life when I felt like I was useless. I felt like there was nothing I could do in this world where I would truly feel my own success. It took me a while but I finally found passion in my life. I realized I didn’t need to live to serve my family anymore. While I’ll always love them, I learned that I didn’t need to do everything they told me to, I didn’t need to live the dreams that they believed I should live. I started to adventure more, I started trying things that I hadn’t before, I started to learn who I am. Then I finally decided that I would be the one controlling the winds, I would control which direction the kite flys.
