I am a non tradition student. I was not always this way, I applied to and attended college right out of high school but I had such severe undiagnosed and untreated anxiety and depression that I was doomed to fail. And I did exactly that, I failed and I quit. It wasn't until I was around 26 years old that I was finally treated for my mental illnesses, that I finally had the strength to ask for help. Modern medicine is a miraculous thing and ever since I have started treatment I have found that drive within myself that pushed me forward such a long time ago. I may have failed spectacularly the first time around, but since restarting my academic career I have succeeded like I could never imagined. I have a bright social life, a near perfect GPA, a support system like no other, and most importantly I have a burning desire and motivation to reach my goals.
