As a first-generation college student, I’ve learned that success isn’t about having the easiest path it’s about continuing to move forward when the path is difficult. Over the past few years, I’ve balanced multiple jobs while navigating financial challenges, unreliable transportation, and the responsibility of helping support my family. Those experiences have taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.
My passion for technology began at a young age and has grown into a commitment to pursuing a career in information technology and cybersecurity. I will be attending Lindsey Hopkins Technical College in the Computer Network program, where I plan to build a strong technical foundation before earning industry certifications and continuing my education. My long-term goal is to work in cybersecurity, protecting organizations from cyber threats while helping increase diversity in the technology industry.
Beyond building a career, I hope to create financial stability for my family and inspire others from backgrounds like mine to pursue careers in technology. I believe education is more than earning a certificate or degree—it’s an opportunity to change the trajectory of my life and future generations. Every challenge I’ve faced has strengthened my determination, and I’m committed to making the most of every opportunity placed in front of me.
