Many choose to blend into the crowed but I am happy to stand out by being my unique self. In a world with so many stereotypes, social standards and hate I choose to write my own book. I choose to be kind and to be myself even if it doesn’t fit the social “norms”. I like to make life simple and enjoy the little things. I carry this with me throughout life. I choose to be kind to those around me and put others first because I enjoy seeing other people be happy and I like spreading the message of kindness, hoping it will rub off on others and they can spread it too.
In my free time I often donate as I try not to waste and to give others the opportunity to enjoy. While working in a food resultant, when leaving I would take the excess food from the day and while on my commute home from work I would often stop by the city center where the homeless would gather, I’d stop by and feed them. Although as a young woman scared, it made me a lot happier to help instead of living in fear. I also donated material products which not only helps individuals gain products they need but also reduces waste and helps the environment we all live in. I do also like to volunteer and help people/ animals less fortunate than me, without the need for a payment in return. I would say my helpful nature roots from my childhood. I am the oldest of 7 children and therefore I have always given to those around me and enjoyed it.
The people I make the biggest difference to are my siblings. Since the age of 14 I have worked. I managed to store money away. Coming from a single parent low income family, money could get very tight. But I stepped up and would always help with extra cash to give my siblings things my parents couldn’t afford. Such as lunch meals and transportation fees. This meant that even while I have been away to study abroad I have been able to help my siblings/ family in little everyday tasks. The money was often hidden around the house and whenever they called I could help them out immediately. Even from across the planet. Being a big sister was a big responsibility that I stepped into without hesitation and continue to take pride in leading my siblings.
