Hello! My name is Charlotte McCormick, but I go by my nickname Charlie. I attend the University of Arkansas with a Public Health Major and a Human Development and Family Sciences Minor. I am originally from San Antonio, Texas. I am the daughter of a United States Air Force veteran, and my mother is a blind disability activist and poet. I am dedicated to creating a more equitable future through food insecurity access, mental health advocacy, and leaving this planet better than I found it through sustainability and environmental outreach. I am also passionate about providing access to genetic and mental health counseling that has helped my mother through her journey with Retinitis Pigmentosa and would love to dedicate my life to providing education and encouraging autonomy to others about their health choices.

  Mission:

  The CAPS Ambassadors Program is a student peer program dedicated to raising awareness of campus mental health resources and reducing the stigma through positive engagement and outreach experiences to connect students to mental health services. I recently received the position of Social Event Coordinator and I am responsible for the planning and follow-through of ambassador bonding events.

  As a member of the Student Sierra Coalition, we believe that every human being has a right to a clean and healthy environment and is therefore obligated to protect and restore the environment and the organisms that depend upon it. As the secretary of the club, I am in charge of planning and coordinating the bi-monthly social hikes and connecting students to like-minded individuals to serve and nurture the environment.
