"Most Gen Z Human Alive" Scholarship
Being Gen Z is more than just being born between the late 1990s and early 2010s—it's a lifestyle, a mindset, and a culture. When I say I’m the most Gen Z person alive, I’m not exaggerating. I embody the full spectrum of Gen Z characteristics—from our digital fluency to our unapologetic authenticity, our humor, and our activism.
First and foremost, I live online. My phone is practically an extension of my hand. I switch between TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and BeReal without missing a beat. I consume content in bite-sized, algorithm-curated doses. Memes, reaction gifs, and audios from viral TikToks make up half my vocabulary. I don’t Google things—I search Reddit. I don’t use a calendar—I rely on Notes and voice memos. To me, life is a never-ending scroll.
Then there's my vibe. I dress ironically, mixing thrifted fits with Crocs and streetwear. I can rock Y2K nostalgia one day and show up in a "goblin mode" hoodie the next. I live for aesthetic curation: my playlists have elaborate titles like “crying in my room while it rains and the world ends,” and I edit pictures to perfection, even if they’re meant to look “effortless.”
But being Gen Z is also about awareness. I care deeply about mental health and social justice. I talk about anxiety without shame, advocate for climate action, and use my voice on social media to speak out. I was raised during the chaos of global crises, and I’ve developed both a dark humor and a strong resilience because of it.
Finally, I live in contradictions. I’m simultaneously deeply existential and extremely online. I want to change the world—but I’m also kind of tired. That complexity? That’s peak Gen Z. So yes, I truly am the most Gen Z person alive.
Individualized Education Pathway Scholarship
Living with ADHD has been both one of my greatest challenges and one of my greatest teachers. ADHD affects many areas of my life, especially when it comes to focus, organization, and time management. Throughout my educational journey, I have often felt like I was running a race where everyone else had a head start. Tasks that seemed simple to others like sitting still through long lectures, completing assignments ahead of deadlines, or keeping track of multiple subjects felt overwhelming to me. There were times when I doubted my abilities and questioned whether I could keep up with the demands of school.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was staying organized and focused in traditional classroom environments. My mind often jumps from thought to thought, making it difficult to concentrate on lectures or multi-step assignments. It was frustrating to know that I was capable of understanding the material but struggled to present it in the way it was expected. Group projects were especially difficult, as working in noisy, unstructured environments would sometimes make me shut down completely. These obstacles made me feel isolated and discouraged at times.
However, instead of letting ADHD define me, I made the choice to develop strategies to manage it. I worked closely with teachers and school counselors to create accommodations that supported my learning, such as extended time on tests and access to quiet workspaces. I also embraced tools like planners, color-coded folders, and digital reminders to keep myself organized. Breaking assignments into smaller, manageable steps helped me stay on track without feeling overwhelmed.
More importantly, I learned how to advocate for myself. I realized that asking for help was not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. Through trial and error, I discovered that active learning strategies like taking detailed notes, using hands-on activities, and studying in short, focused bursts helped me retain information better than traditional methods. Therapy and coaching also taught me mindfulness techniques to stay present, manage stress, and celebrate small victories along the way.
What motivates me to continue my education is my belief that ADHD does not limit my potential it simply means I approach challenges differently. In fact, my experiences have given me resilience, creativity, and empathy qualities that are essential in any field, especially in one as complex and people-centered as the law, education, or advocacy. I am driven by the desire to show others with learning disabilities that success is possible when you are willing to adapt, work hard, and believe in yourself.
My ultimate goal is to use my education to help create more inclusive environments for students who learn differently. I want to advocate for better understanding, support, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Every challenge I have faced has fueled my passion for creating change and making education a place where everyone can thrive.
In conclusion, ADHD has certainly made my educational path more challenging, but it has also made me stronger, more determined, and more innovative. I have learned to work with my mind instead of against it, and I carry those lessons with pride. I am committed to continuing my education not just for myself, but for everyone who has ever been told that their differences are limitations instead of strengths.
Shullman Legal Scholarship
Since I was young, I have been fascinated by the concept of justice — the idea that every individual deserves to have a voice, to be heard, and to be treated fairly under the law. As I grew older and learned more about the world, my interest deepened into a passion for pursuing a career in the legal field. Pre-law studies are not just an academic path for me; they are a stepping stone toward fulfilling my commitment to advocate for others, promote fairness, and contribute to building a more equitable society.
My passion for law stems from personal experiences and observations of injustice in everyday life. I have seen how marginalized individuals often struggle to navigate complex legal systems, how socioeconomic status can affect access to representation, and how misunderstood laws can have profound effects on people’s lives. These realizations ignited a desire in me to be part of the solution — to not only understand the law but to use it to protect and empower others.
Throughout my high school career, I sought out opportunities to engage with the principles of law and justice. I participated in mock trial competitions, where I developed critical skills such as constructing arguments, thinking analytically, and presenting information persuasively. I also volunteered at local community centers, assisting with legal literacy programs that helped families understand their rights. These experiences confirmed that law is not just about rules; it is about people — their struggles, their dreams, and their ability to live with dignity and fairness.
Choosing pre-law studies is a reflection of my commitment to these values. I am eager to dive deeply into political science, philosophy, ethics, and history, gaining a foundation that will prepare me for the rigorous study of law school. I understand that the journey will be challenging, but my self-motivation, commitment, and passion drive me to persevere. I view every class, every case study, and every debate as an opportunity to grow into the advocate I aspire to become.
Ultimately, I want to specialize in public interest law, focusing on issues like civil rights, education equity, and criminal justice reform. I believe that a society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable members, and I want to dedicate my life to ensuring that no voice goes unheard, no right is disregarded, and no injustice is tolerated. My goal is not only to represent clients but to work toward systemic change that addresses the root causes of inequality.
This scholarship would play a crucial role in helping me achieve these goals. By lessening the financial burden of higher education, it would allow me to focus more fully on my studies and community involvement. It would also symbolize a vote of confidence in my potential to make a meaningful difference through the legal profession.
In conclusion, my passion for pre-law studies and a career in law is fueled by a deep belief in justice, fairness, and service. I am committed to becoming a voice for those who need it most and to using my education, skills, and drive to contribute to a more just and compassionate society.
Matthew E. Minor Memorial Scholarship
Growing up, I have always been motivated by ambition, compassion, and a deep desire to leave a positive impact on my community. Throughout my high school years, I actively engaged in community service, tutoring younger students, organizing food drives, and participating in anti-bullying campaigns. These experiences have shaped my passion for helping others and have made me more determined to pursue higher education, despite the financial challenges I face.
Coming from a modest background, my family has always prioritized necessities over luxuries. My parents work tirelessly to provide for us, but the cost of higher education presents a significant financial burden. Scholarships such as this one are critical to helping me bridge the gap between my dreams and reality. Without sufficient financial aid, I risk accumulating overwhelming student debt, which could limit my opportunities in the future. I am committed to working hard, not only to honor the support I receive but also to pay it forward by contributing meaningfully to society.
Community involvement has been at the heart of my personal development. One of my most meaningful contributions has been mentoring younger children through a local after-school program. In this role, I help students with their homework, lead activities that promote positive social interactions, and serve as a trusted mentor. One focus of our program is teaching children about the dangers of bullying and cyberbullying. I lead workshops where we discuss the importance of empathy, digital citizenship, and standing up for others in a safe and respectful way.
To keep children and youth safe from in-person bullying, I organize peer support groups where students can share their experiences in a non-judgmental environment. We emphasize the importance of kindness and respect, and we work together to develop strategies for handling bullying situations. I believe that empowering young people with the tools to advocate for themselves and others creates a ripple effect of positivity within the community.
In the digital world, I help educate students about protecting themselves online. Through interactive lessons, I teach them how to recognize cyberbullying, maintain privacy, and respond appropriately when faced with online harassment. We also discuss the importance of reporting harmful behavior and supporting peers who may be victims of cyberbullying. My goal is to create an environment where young people feel both informed and empowered.
As I transition into higher education, I plan to continue this advocacy work on a larger scale. I am passionate about studying psychology and education, with the goal of becoming a school counselor or youth advocate. I want to dedicate my career to supporting young people, helping them build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of self-worth. Winning this scholarship would not only ease the financial strain on my family but would also fuel my ambition to create lasting, positive change in the lives of others.
In summary, my drive, ambition, and commitment to making an impact are what motivate me every day. With the support of this scholarship, I am confident that I can further my education, deepen my community involvement, and help lead efforts to combat bullying and cyberbullying for future generations.
