My experiences with mental health and substance abuse have shaped who I am today and have played an important role in my personal growth and educational goals. Growing up, I faced many challenges that deeply affected my mental health and the way I saw myself and the world around me. While those experiences were difficult, they have also helped me become stronger, more resilient, and more determined to create a better future for myself and my family. Middle school was a difficult time for me. I struggled with friendships and often felt like I did not fit in with the people around me. Many of the things my friends were interested in, like relationships and trying to impress boys, were things I did not really understand or feel ready for. However, like many young people, I followed along because I wanted to feel accepted and included. Even during those years, I often felt alone and unsure of where I belonged. In high school, my struggles with mental health became more serious. There were times when I felt like I no longer wanted to be here and questioned whether my life had meaning. During that time, one of the most important supports in my life was my cousin. We spent time together talking about our problems and supporting each other. Having someone who understood and listened gave me something to look forward to and reminded me that I was not completely alone. Part of the pain I carried came from traumatic experiences in my past. As a child, I was sexually abused, and in middle school I experienced sexual assault. These experiences had a deep impact on my mental health and the way I coped with difficult emotions. For a long time, I did not fully process or deal with the trauma I had experienced. Instead, I tried to push those feelings aside and continue moving forward without addressing the pain. As I grew older, I began turning to alcohol as a way to cope. Drinking allowed me to numb my thoughts and emotions, even if only temporarily. It became a way to escape from the pain and memories that I did not know how to face. While alcohol felt like relief at the time, it did not truly solve the struggles I was dealing with. Looking back, I now understand that it was my way of trying to survive emotionally during a time when I felt overwhelmed and unsupported. Over time, I began to recognize that I needed to make changes in my life. One of the biggest sources of strength and motivation for me has been my children. They inspire me every day to keep going, even when things feel difficult. My family has become my greatest source of joy and peace. They remind me why it is important to continue growing, healing, and building a healthier life. I have also faced additional challenges with my health, including being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Living with a chronic illness can be difficult, but it has also helped me learn patience, resilience, and the importance of taking care of both my physical and mental health. These experiences have taught me that even when life brings unexpected challenges, it is still possible to move forward and build a meaningful life. My educational goal is to become an educator, particularly working with young children. I am passionate about early childhood education and believe that the early years of a child’s life are incredibly important. I want to create a classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow. Because of my own experiences, I understand how important it is for young people to feel seen, valued, and supported by the adults in their lives. I hope that by becoming a teacher, I can help create positive experiences for children and be someone who encourages them to believe in themselves. Continuing to manage my recovery is an important part of my life. I plan to focus on maintaining healthy coping strategies, staying connected to supportive family members, and continuing to prioritize my mental and emotional well-being. Being open about my experiences and learning from them helps me stay grounded and reminds me how far I have come. I also remain focused on building a stable, healthy environment for my children and myself. Although my journey has included many challenges, those experiences have also shaped my strength, compassion, and determination. They have motivated me to pursue my education and to build a future that reflects growth, healing, and purpose. I am committed to continuing my recovery, supporting my family, and working toward my goal of becoming an educator who helps others feel supported and inspired.

My aunt inspired me to become a teacher because she is a teacher herself, and I have always looked up to her. Growing up, I saw how much she cared about her students and how hard she worked to help them succeed. Seeing the difference she made in her students’ lives made me realize that I wanted to do the same one day. I plan to use my experiences from working in the classroom, volunteering in my aunt’s classroom, and being involved in my own children’s classrooms to inspire others by being supportive, encouraging, and working hard. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, know that it’s okay to make mistakes, and understand that mistakes are an important part of learning. I hope that by encouraging them and helping them believe in themselves, I can make a positive difference in their lives, just like my aunt has done for so many of her students. I am especially passionate about early childhood education because I love watching young children explore, learn, and grow every day. The early years are such an important time in a child’s development, and it inspires me to know that I can help shape their curiosity and love of learning at this stage. I strongly believe that learning through play is key to keeping children engaged, excited, and motivated. Through play, children can explore new ideas, develop social and emotional skills, practice problem-solving, and build confidence in a way that feels natural and fun. I have seen the power of this approach while volunteering in my aunt’s classroom and observing my own children in their early learning experiences. Those moments showed me how children thrive when they feel supported, safe, and encouraged to try new things. I want my students to know that my classroom will always be a safe space where they can ask questions, take risks, and feel confident in exploring their ideas. I want them to feel comfortable making mistakes, because mistakes are a natural and important part of learning. My goal is to create a welcoming and positive environment where every child feels valued, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential. By fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, I hope to help my students not only succeed academically but also grow as individuals who are confident, kind, and engaged in their communities.I hope my students not only grow academically, but also grow as individuals within their community. I want them to become confident, curious, and supportive of others. My goal as a future teacher is to help students feel comfortable being themselves while learning new things and discovering their strengths. One day, I hope they will look back on their time in my classroom and remember that their teacher cared about them, encouraged them, and helped them believe in themselves. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how we get back up and learn from them that truly matters. Being able to make a positive impact on children’s early experiences is what drives my passion for teaching and motivates me to give my best every day.

My aunt inspired me to become a teacher because she is a teacher herself and I’ve always looked up to her. Growing up, I saw how much she cared about her students and how hard she worked to help them succeed. She always talked about wanting her students to feel supported and confident in themselves, and that really inspired me. Seeing the difference she makes in her students’ lives made me realize that I would like to do something like that too. I plan to use my experiences from working in the classroom and volunteering in my aunt’s classroom, as well as being involved in my own children’s classrooms, to help inspire my future students. These experiences have helped me see how important it is for students to feel supported and encouraged while they are learning. As a future teacher, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and know that it is okay to make mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, and they are an important part of how we learn and grow. I want to create a classroom environment where students feel safe to try their best, even when something feels challenging. By being patient, supportive, and working hard, I hope to encourage my students to believe in themselves and their abilities. My goal is to make a positive difference in their lives and help them feel confident in their learning. Just like my aunt has inspired and supported so many of her students, I hope to do the same for mine. We have all been students at some point, and that is something I will always remember when I become a teacher. I plan to use my own experiences from working in the classroom and being a student to help my future students succeed. One day they will graduate and look back on their time in the classroom, and I hope they will remember it as a positive experience. I want them to remember that their teacher cared about them and always encouraged them to be the best version of themselves. Everyone makes mistakes, but what really matters is how we get back up and learn from them. I want my students to know that mistakes are part of learning and growing. I want my students to know that my classroom will always be a safe space where they can explore, learn, and ask questions without feeling afraid or judged. I want them to understand that no question is ever a wrong one, because asking questions is an important part of learning. I want my students to not only grow and expand their knowledge from the curriculum, but also grow as individuals within their community. School is not just about learning subjects like math or reading, but also about learning how to work with others, show kindness, and build confidence in themselves. I hope my students become curious about the world around them and feel encouraged to share their ideas and opinions. I also hope they learn to support one another and create a positive environment where everyone feels included. My goal as a teacher is to help students feel comfortable being themselves while learning new things and discovering their strengths. I want them to leave my classroom feeling proud of what they have learned and confident in their ability to keep growing and improving.

I feel that education especially for children should be a lasting experience.for younger children or for all children learning should be fun. I want to get to know my students and plan their learning to adapt to their own interests and challenge them to want to learn more. teachers do more than just teach, they inspire and shape children to who they may become in the future. I believe that every student deserves the best opportunities when it comes to their educational journey. I want to steer them into the right path with the strongest foundation possible. As a former student my self I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the uplifting teachers and supportive staff in the education system. I have also met some teachers who weren't so great and because of them I want to make sure that as long as I am a teacher they won't feel the way those teachers made me feel, which was unsupportive and lost in an overpopulated space, I want all students to feel seen, heard and safe. I want to challenge them and support the way they think and learn. every student is different and they all learn different. I want them to know they have support of the staff, their community and their peers. My aunt is a teacher and I have seen her start her life from the bottom up. she is a hard worker not only for herself, her students and co workers but for everyone who meets her. she inspires, encourages and accepts you for everything you are. the good the bad the great choices and the not so great ones. no matter what she encourages everyone and reminds you that it is never too late for education, for your dreams or for building your life over again. that's what I want to be and this whom I will aspire to become. everyone you meet in life plays a role even if its just for a moment. we not only learn from our teachers and adults but we learn from each other and if we can become a community who not only helps ourselves but each other than that is a step forward into a brighter future.By becoming an educator, I hope to create a supportive environment where students feel valued, motivated, and capable of achieving their dreams. I want to inspire students to be inspired just like how I was, I want to encourage them to shoot for the stars, go above and beyond for their dreams and understand that education is powerful. knowledge can change their lives.Pursuing a career in education is not just a profession for me; it is a commitment to helping others grow and succeed.
