My name is Chandler,
I am a first-generation college student working in the field of Public Health. My investment in higher education and professional practice began early on, even before graduating high school where I decided to attend an early college to pursue my associate's degree while completing my high school diploma. Following this success I transitioned to the university scope in the fall of 2019 to pursue my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. I culminated my undergraduate studies in December 2021 before engaging in a Masters in Public Health program from Texas Tech University Health Science Center, graduating with my MPH in May 2023.
Through my experience and pursuit of education, my focus has always remained clear: to expand access to healthcare for at-risk and vulnerable populations and support the optimization of health-related outcomes for all populations using evidence-based practice. With this focus, I have continued to seek out opportunities to better educate myself so that I may serve as a valuable resource to those around me. This is my driving force for continuing my pursuit of graduate education at the doctoral level as well as the focus of advancing to medical school.

Bold Loving Others Scholarship
Helping others to feel loved isn't always found in a single action or catering to the stereotypes of showing "love" but rather truly knowing and being there for those you care about. Every day I make it a personal goal to show love to my friends and family by being there for them however they need. By doing the dishes, or by complimenting them on their haircut. Allowed my friend to sleep in on his day off by being extra quiet in the apartment, and telling my sister how proud I am of her for her new business.
Love can be shared with everyone and in every way, and I show my love by being there for my family and friends. By being an active participant, a resource, a brother, a friend, and an ally to those I love I share the love every day. It is a humbling experience to think about but invigorates me knowing that being the best me I can also help my loved ones through the show of love I provide them.
Bold Joy Scholarship
Joy isn't something that can be expressed in a specific activity or adventure. Joy can be found in everything, everyone, and every experience so long as you seek out the joy. Joy is the driving force for many of my decisions and for many of my long-term goals because I know wholeheartedly that if I find joy in doing something or being somewhere, I can truly be myself and strive to be the best me I can be.
Finding joy in every day is an ingrained component of my life. I always work toward seeing the happiness in a situation regardless of how it seems on the surface because a season without rain doesn't let the flowers grow. Rather than seeing things superficially with how they present, I always ask myself what the benefit of a situation or experience is, and often how I can learn from it or use it for myself in my daily life. I strive to share the joy and spread the wealth in everything I do.
