WinnerI didn't have any idea on what I had planned on doing After High School then a gentleman from the local Community College came to the school and discuss different Workforce trade that the college offer and he went over a trade by the name of NDT non-destructive testing I became instantly interested he mentioned manufacturing, Aerospace oil and gas all those topics became interesting to me so I wanted to learn more about them. And he also mentioned that it would not take long to get certified it goes up to three different levels it is a very important job you have to be able to pay attention and pay attention to details because because of the inspections incorrect a piece of equipment can fail and that is not okay so we are the safety Lifeline between the equipment and the workers. We look for structural defects before they lead to catastrophic failures in airplanes, bridges, pipelines, and buildings. Safety is a big part of my life as I watch my mother do her job on a daily for the last 15 years and it showed me how important safety is that is another reason I chose to do a Workforce career with safety . It's an important job and I feel like the only way that I can do something better in the world is by learning this trade and Performing the job properly to my highest level into eventually get to a level three I am the first high school graduate from my family and the first one to go to college even if it's a community college it's important to me and I want to do this for me and my mother she's proud of me and I want to make sure that I keep her proud and make myself proud by completing something starting something and not finishing not giving up on myself nor my dreams because once I complete this trade I won't stop after this I've been welding since the 9th grade I passed every welding test that I've taken at the local welding facility here in my town. This financial help will help my mother out so that we can put this towards School and it will be a big help to me I don't have a job at the moment I used to work for the gentleman in my local town at BJ's automotives helping out with tires and changing oil to earn some money but I did not put that money aside for school as a young teenager I was under the impression that I was going to be able to get some financial assistance for school through financial aid however this Workforce program that I'm in currently does not offer financial aid so this is my story and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time and consideration for this scholarship help.
