I love to wrestle and have been interested since a young age, I made varsity this year as a freshman and qualified for state. In this essay I will tell you what I have learned from the books I have read and how they have shaped my goals in life, how I plan to make a positive impact in my community, A time I have failed and what I had learned from it, the impacts of mentorship on my life, how I am unique, My background, my identity, my interests, and how I contribute to my community every day. For starters I am super passionate about reading and how much positive effects it can do to your mind, Iv learned so much from reading like how to survive in the wilderness all the way to lessons from when I was little like not to lie and not to steal. These books have shaped my dreams by showing me how reading can effect ones life, for example when you read someone's book that is successful and you take that advice you will go down the same road they did. I plan to make a positive effect in my community to give back what they have given me. For example I want to fund my local fire department because they are underfunded and they serve a great purpose. I already help my community out by mowing lawns, Cleaning trash wherever I see it, and showing up to wrestling practices for little kids and help them be successful and improve at wrestling. One time I have failed is In a wrestling match, I had given up and lost a really important match for my self and my record. I had lost because I didn't believe in myself and I had self doubt even before walking out on the mat. That has taught me to always have self confidence and never doubt myself in anything. Mentorship is a great tool when you struggle more or need help with things. I am always self advocating and Iv never really struggled in school so I have never needed any extra help. I can say I am unique because of my name but my actual answer is that I am just another human being made in gods image, that's my picture of unique. I come from a kinda small town and in a loving home and neither of my parents went to college or trade school, I am a man and I identify as He/him, my interests can include wrestling, chess, dirt biking, Frisbee golf, cooking, and many other things.I have contributed to my community in many different things that can include mowing elderly lawns, scooping the elderly driveways, and picking up trash whenever I see it. That is all about me in this essay, thank you for reading and thank you for your time.

These are the reasons I would rather pursue a trade than a four year college degree, how I plan on how to use these skills to make a positive impact in my community, the challenges I expect to face in the trade I pursue in, and how I will handle overcome them to achieve my goals. Some reasons I would want to pursue a trade instead of four years of college is because I don't want to be in a ton of debt. The student dept is one of the biggest problems for college students after college and for many it take so many years to pay it off. Another reason can be that I know what I want to do and trade school is offering it to me while college isn't. I want to be a linemen, work on windmills, or work with hydroelectricity, these jobs interest me and would be a perfect fit for what I want to do with my career. These Jobs would help me help more people because the idea of giving thousands of people heated houses, light, and flowing water makes me interested because it helps me to help people. I want to use my skills I learn about the trade I learn to help people like if I become an electrician I can help people with the talents I have and the gifts God had given me to want to help people, friends, and my community. Some challenges I expect to face are physical challenges like heavy things or not getting it right the first time and then mental challenges like people getting upset with price and how long it takes. I will overcome these challenges by trying my hardest every time I go on a job, I only expect the best out of myself because I was taught properly by a trade school so I should be able to get the job done right. I will achieve my goals of getting the job done right every time by properly understanding how everything works, why it works, how it works, and when it works. If I use those elements I expect myself to not be lazy. those are the reasons I would rather pursue a trade than a four year college degree, how I plan on how to use these skills to make a positive impact in my community, the challenges I expect to face in the trade I pursue in, and how I will handle overcome them to achieve my goals.
      Build and Bless Leadership Scholarship
This is how faith has influenced my leadership style for the better, the times I led or inspired others through faith, and how those experiences shaped my vision for my future. To start off My name is Champ Watson and I am non denominational, I live In Peyton Colorado and I go to mountain springs church as much as I am able to go. I recommend this church because of the community and positive vibe there. This church has made me a better person and strengthens my faith and relationship with Jesus. I am not a perfect person because no one is besides Jesus but I still stand as a role model and a leader in many places such as the church, the wrestling room, and on the field. My leadership stlye was shaped by faith and showed me I need to be patient with people but also have standards to get better and Improve. My leadership style has also been influenced by situations that have happened to me like when I broke my arm while wrestling. Me breaking my arm humbled me greatly and showed me I am just another human living my life in God's glory. After I broke my arm I wanted more people to realize they are second after God, but then show them how much love Jesus and God has for them every second of there whole lives. I have a deep passion for showing people the truth and pulling them out of the lies they bury themselves into in life, it breaks my heart to see people close to me that I care about go down the wrong path. A time I inspired others through faith is when I had a friend and he had strong feelings of regret and pain and he wanted to end his life short, I was helping him and comforting him through passage of bible and prayer like the other role models I in my life like Jesus. This event has shaped my vision for the future because I want to help more people through this pain and suffering. One last thing about me is my favorite bible verse, it's 1 Samuel 16:7 and it goes "People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart". That is how faith has influenced my leadership style for the better, the times I led or inspired others through faith, and how those experiences shaped my vision for my future.
Powering Up.org: Empowering Pathways Into Energy Scholarship

My Name is Champ Watson and this is why I am interested in entering the energy workforce. For starters since I was younger I have always been curious about energy and electricity, I have had a drive to know how circuits work and why it works. Electricity interests me and I have role models in my life that work with energy, my uncle is a line man and my cousin work on windmills. Both of them have told me to get into a trade that involves energy because it is a great path to success and a comfortable lifestyle if I work hard. When I was younger my mother bought me this circuit board to learn about energy and how it travels, it would play funny sounds, spin a mini propeller, and it taught me many great things like the current, the circuit, and the power. I know there are many more things to learn but I am always open minded to any idea and opportunity thrown at me. A little more about my personal life is that I love wrestling and I have had a passion about it since I was younger. My father has been a great role model for it and has set me up for success, I have a decent amount of skill and qualified for Colorado state this year at 175 pounds as a freshman. I feel like working with energy and climbing windmills needs an amount of athleticism, flexibility, and stamina so wrestling has given me all of these attributes to be able to be successful in the work place when it comes to carrying heavier things, climbing high poles that are dangerous, and being able to work in tight environments because I guess its not comfortable up in the sky on a windmill. I am not quite set on what job to do in the energy work force but I am interested in energy because I want to be able to give people power and help others, I want to do what's right for everybody and what's right for the environment. I am more set on working on natural energy like in hydro energy or air energy. I want to be where I fit best in the energy force and to be comfortable, I do not want to be living paycheck to paycheck in my future and I want to be able to live a lifestyle with kids and a wife.

This is how wrestling changed the way I view adversity and how it affects my hopes for my future of education and wrestling. Since I was little I have always had a positive mindset in any situation from school all the way to things I don't want to do. Wrestling has taught me to have a strong mindset and not to give out when things get hard. I see life just like a wrestling match every day of my life, from warming up before, starting out the match, where you push yourself the hardest, and finally where you give up or go win big. Something I can compare to warming up before a match is like studying before a big test or getting ready for an important job interview. I can compare starting out the match as taking a new step in life, this can be from going up from middle school to high school, going to high school to college, or even moving out of your parents house you have spent most your life in. In life when you push yourself like in a wrestling match is when you don't want to do something so much and your body is telling you to quit, but you keep going over your mental limit and trying like when you get a long essay to do for school or even when you are running. finally towards the end of a wrestling match you can either give up or win big, in life you can compare this to trying in the little things like finishing laundry for the day or much bigger and more important things like getting a partner for yourself and taking care of your kids. Wrestling has set up my hopes for my future in so many ways like my talents for how hard I've worked every day since I was four. almost every day I'm in the mat room improving myself for my dreams of making it to college for wrestling and being successful. I try my hardest to be a role model every day in the mat room too for the younger kids, I show them moves always more than a few times so it sticks with them and showing them what it means to work hard and put in the time in the mat room. That is how wrestling changed the way I view adversity and how it affects my hopes for my future of education and wrestling.
