In college, I see myself studying environmental science and earth systems. My dream is not about a personal outcome, instead, my dream is about the help and care I want to provide the waters with. I want to travel to different places and explore their waters. Learning about every single drop and molecule, using the things I learn with science, I would be able to return a better life for these waters. I want to find other people who have the same dream and ideals as mine, who are willing to work together to study ways to help the waters, to learn together, and explore. In the future, I hope to take courses and learn more, so I can fulfill my childhood dreams and know the life of those with no legs or feet, but those who have fins and scaly-salty skin. I hope that the path I take will guide me to take a pen and form the story of my life. I believe that with my future degree, I can provide better lives for these animals and travel places, even if it just starts in a small aquarium. With children with my dream, I want to remind them that it is not a dream to be shut down and don’t second guess if anyone tries to break you down or judge you and say you’re not doing nothing with your life. I want to be a reminder to them that in a world full of confusion and indecisiveness, my knowledge and accomplishments can be a guide and inspiration to helping them remain stable and telling themselves, “I got this, I will be okay”.
I am very fond of helping younger scholars, as I come from a place where gun violence, drug abuse, gangs, etc are an attraction to many young teenagers and I would want them to avoid such a path with a poor and dangerous lifestyle. Once my educational path is over, I want to return back to New York to show kids that anything is possible. I can teach those who want to learn more about marine animals. More kids with STEM knowledge can get a gist of what they are capable of achieving and see if they have a passion for the STEM field as well. I have been a great help to the younger students within my school's neighborhood. I have been invited to various schools to motivate younger scholars about attending high school and the importance of having the right mindset for attending college as well.
