"From a young age, I was drawn to the world of art. Not just creating it, but the whole picture – the galleries, the business behind the brush strokes. My childhood passion for drawing evolved into a fascination with the art world, and I realized that to truly thrive, I needed to understand the business side of things. This wasn't just about selling paintings; it was about entrepreneurship, marketing, and creating a sustainable career from my passion.
My journey hasn't been a straight line. Life threw a few curveballs, and I found myself needing to get my GED. That experience was a wake-up call. It taught me the importance of perseverance and the value of education. I realized that to achieve my goals, I needed to equip myself with the knowledge and skills that a business degree could provide.
My mother, a dedicated school teacher, instilled in me a deep respect for learning. Her three degrees were a constant reminder of the power of education to transform lives. I want to make her proud, to show her that even though my path has been different, I'm just as committed to achieving my dreams.
The tattoo industry has given me a taste of the business world. My apprenticeship at a local parlor exposed me to the realities of running a business, from managing clients to understanding the financial side of things. But it also highlighted the gaps in my knowledge. I want to learn more about marketing strategies to attract clients, financial management to ensure profitability, and the legal and regulatory aspects of the industry.
My vision extends beyond just opening a tattoo parlor. I want to create a unique space that offers something different, a place that stands out from the competition. To achieve this, I need a solid foundation in business principles. I need to understand market analysis, branding, and how to create a sustainable business model.
A business degree isn't just about the piece of paper; it's about the knowledge, the skills, and the confidence to turn my passion into a successful career. It's about honoring my mother's legacy and proving to myself that I can overcome any obstacle. It's about creating a future where I can combine my artistic talent with business acumen to build something truly special."
