Hi! My name is Celeste Zelaya and I am currently a Senior at Cal State San Marcos. I am the first child of four and the first grandchild of twelve to fully attend and graduate college on both my mother's side of her family and my father's side of his family. My grandmother is my influential person out of all of my family members. She is also the eldest in her family of seven siblings, so caring a lot of responsibility showed me what it takes to be a leader. At a young age, she came to the U.S. only speaking Spanish. The language barrier did not stop her. She had gotten a job at a local sewing shop with many different ethnicities such as Chinese and Cuban. She taught me to never give up, always be humble to others, and be passionate about what I do. Furthermore, I will be earning my Bachelor's in Criminology and Criminal Justice in the hope to become a crime scene investigator. What drove me to become an investigator was from an organization called Operation Underground Railroad. This organization was formed by Tim Ballard who goes into many states and countries to conducts sting operations for human trafficking. My passion is to help many victims that have no voices and to be the voice that they need.
