I am a Student at Northwest High School. There, I have been an active member of my community by volunteering at both my school and the broader community while continuing my studies to further my goal of becoming a civil engineer.
Some work that I have done includes helping move a deceased veteran's possessions and organizing them to aid their family, doing yardwork for underprivileged or disabled families, running food at concessions during school events, adding to my school by actively creating banners and murals for our track field, and donating non-perishables to food drives for financially-aided families.
The reason I want to become a civil engineer is that I noticed in Cincinnati that there is an increasing problem with the sewage system. Most of the sewage system is dilapidated and needs constant repair and re-modelling. I want to use my college experience to aid in repairing the century-long problem.
My interests co-align with my route in college; I am a large fan of electronics, engineering, and architecture.
With this scholarship, I would be able to continue to help the greater public, not for my generation, but for the generation after. Which has always been my dream and goal.
