Currently, I am in my Master's Program of Clinical Nutrition at the University of Michigan. Previously, I attended Miami University as a four-year student in the College of Education, Health, and Society, studying a Nutrition major with a dietetics concentration, and a minor in Entrepreneurship. Undoubtedly, I am very passionate about gastrointestinal diseases, autoimmune disorders, and allergies. Overall, I wish to educate individuals on these specific concentrations of dietetics and aid those who need help in their health journeys. After completing my graduate studies and clinical rotations, I will sit for the RDN exam. I plan to specialize in gastroenterology, gluten-related disorders, autoimmune conditions, and food allergies. My short-term goals include working in a hospital gastroenterology environment, participating in DIGID research, and conducting nutrition education in schools, athletic programs, and community settings. With years of experience, I plan to open a hybrid private practice where health professionals, such as dietitians, therapists, and psychologists, can work with patients long-term. Next door, an allergy-free teaching diner will help patients learn to adapt to their new diagnosis. Additionally, I plan on launching my start-up Path2Plate once completed, so it can be a resource anyone - including my patients- can use. Ultimately, my goal is to reduce the helplessness many patients may feel and create a safe space where people can share experiences.

  Mission:

  The optiMize Social Innovation Challenge (SIC) brings together students working on projects for positive impact. Path2Plate highlights the rising issue that 50% of Americans aren’t meeting their daily macronutrient recommendations, and 94% aren’t meeting their daily micronutrient recommendations. Optimizing these dietary needs can greatly decrease the risk of chronic and autoimmune diseases. This application will aid individuals in their health journey through personalized recommendations. I urge you all to see food as medicine and take precautions to decrease morbidity before it develops.

It has also fueled my organization and data collection skills due to sorting and storing food shipments.

  Mission:

  As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, I help prepare and conduct Experimenting with Microbes labs each week. Lab activities vary with the usage of agar plates, enterotubes, gram stains, pre-lab procedures, and post-lab application of knowledge attained from the lab exercises. I attend weekly lab meetings to prepare for the week ahead; it helps determine what I can do to make the steps and information conceptual for all learners. This position has allowed me to teach aspiring students who push me outside my comfort zone. Through lectures and on one student questions, my explanations have evolved per student.
